To me it's almost an indictment of our best players that they haven't ever come out and said the same. Casey simply doesn't hold DeMar and Kyle accountable when they aren't on their game, Kyle's shooting against Charlotte being a great example of this.
Kyle got skewered in the press by Jack Armstrong for even vaguely alluding to not fully supporting Casey's coaching ability after the Wiz series. Probably would have been run out of town if he actually said what he really thought. Problem is, the media would have turned against Lowry because of his previous "un-coachable" reputation, so he had to bite his tongue, even if he would have been correct.

Remember during training camp how Lowry said he remembers everything the media says or writes about him. I doubt he likes Jack at all and he doesn't care about his opinion.

The media in Toronto is a huge problem. When we watch a 4th quarter against Indiana, or 4th + OT against Charlotte, our analysts just praise Lowry and DeRozan and talk about how they 'normally hit those shots'. I've never heard our analysts call out our lack of ball movement, or talk about the risks we're taking giving Kyle and DeMar such a huge load minutes and usage-wise.

If either of those guys gets injured this year we're in trouble, because noone else is involved enough offensively to pick up the slack.

Jack knows what side his bread is buttered on. He's not going to disparage the coach of the team, regardless of how unbelievably fucking horrible Casey is.

            Unbelievably fucking horrible?? lol

I guess you haven't watched this team before your boy Val came here.

17-11 sitting 3rd in the east (tied with the Cavs for the most wins in the east)

This without 2 of our starters for many games.

I'm sorry but you're definition of completely fucking horrible.....is certainly different.

Posters seem lose their minds and get all emotional when it comes to Casey.

The players seem to like coach Casey. They play their asses off for him (which they don't have to, if they want him gone).

I'm sorry but I just don't see this championship team that you guys do. I'd be thrilled to the max if we get there this year NO DOUBT.

Easy schedule except for the high # of road games. Tougher teams coming up

thanks for assuming I haven't watched the team for long, as if that actually has any impact on the discussion.

when did i say this is a championship team?

Regarding the bold, effort is NOT something I see on a regular basis from this team. The countless horrid 1st quarters, the missed closeouts, the guards allowing straight line drives are all things that were major issues last year and are coming back.

Guys play their asses of for Thibs, not for Casey.

And you are getting very close to the old #respecttherecord dialogue which I have no interest in.

I'm watching the way these guys play, and it is SHITTY basketball more often than not.

                • Coach casey is just destroying all chances of him getting another chance at Coaching.

look at SAM MITCHELL..HE HAD TO WAIT ALMOST 7 YEARS TO COACH AGAIN..
                  CASEY WILL GET TREATED WORSE.

                  JAMES JOHNSON SHOOTS 57%

                  LUCAS NOGUEIRA SHOOTS 73%

NINE(9) GUYS UNDER THE AGE OF 25!!!

COACH CASEY HAD TO GET SHOUTED AT FROM MASAI UJIRI!!! TO REP KYLE LOWRY!!!

YOU HAVE NO EXCUSE COACH DWAYNE CASEY,
UNLESS COACH DWAYNE CASEY TRYING TO PURPOSELY STOP RAPTORS WINNING A CHAMPIONSHIP

REP THE WHOLE SQUAD CASEY..THE WHOLE SQUAD IS LETHAL`1-15 OOPS 1-12..TRUST THE BROTHAS

after 28 games i doubt the first quarter slow starts are "countless"

and the players do play hard for casey as evidenced in the never quit mentality. and #respecttherecord is how coaches are graded.

Allow starts over 5 years. This isn't a one year thing

so now we need to go through every coach in the nbas first quarter record over the past five years to measure how hard caseys' players work for him.

who is on that stat tidbit? otherwise useless right?

Or just remember games. This has been his problem since Minnesota. McHale said he doesn't prepare for games at all hence they fired him.

                            • I disagree that the slow starts are consistent with past seasons. I don't think it is a symptom of the team not getting up for games - I think it is a symptom of the poor fit of the starters making it that much harder for the players to get in rhythm until later in the game. Which is still Casey's fault, but it is isolated to this season, and is a specific issue that can easily be corrected, hence the frustration with it.

It why the team came up with WeTheFourth. They start slow or have just terrible quarters.
