Don't say that stuff! You're killing the "Casey hates rookies and is crushing the franchise" narrative.

I'm not a Casey fan, but if we're going to criticize him it should be done in context.
No narrative man, just reality. If you want to criticize my opinions then go for it, but the blanket BS comment/sarcasm is pointless and just demonstrates how unwilling to actually engage in conversation you are. Provide some actual facts to support your theories and it might be a worth while discussion.

    • The lack of minutes for our end of bench rookies doesn't bother me with casey. None of those guys are going to have much impact.

It was always jv being benched in crunch time that annoyed me. Along with our offensive system, his underserved reputation as a defensive coach (he just makes his teams play slow), weird rotations and sometimes awful play calls out of timeouts.

Wright, bebe and Powell not getting run isn't much of an indictment of his coaching though

It's not the main indication of how poor he is, but it is on the list. Top 5 maybe.

DD, KL, Scola, Biyombo, Patterson, and Ross. That's 6 guys. 1 minute from each would be better than none.
So Bebe/Bennett should play 3 total minutes per game, Delon and Powell 1 each? Who does this?
If we knew half as much about coaching an NBA team as we think, we"d know twice as much as we do.

          • Not a lot of playoff teams give their rookies minutes though do they? Everyone is playing with playoff seeding in mind and jockeying for position. I don't blame Casey for not playing the rooks. But D-League will keep them ready in the case some mins free up.

Lol, what coach is gong to be mindful of shaving one minute from each of his rotation players....in the middle of live action...just so the rookies can get a minute of burn? Ridiculous

Sixers, Lakers, Nets, Bucks - If you need KL, DD and an injured DC playing big minutes to beat them, you arent a good team

I really don't think it's a big deal and its kind of an unfair criticism. We have the best back court in the east and very good backup guards in ross and cojo.

As for bebe he did get some run when jv was out but with him back there's no minutes for him. Bruno isn't ready yet.

                  • You know who was force feed minutes?

As many as he could handle?

                    Demar Derozan

                    That worked out alright.

No, but I'm tailoring it to the audience since any suggestion of lowering KLs minutes or *gasp* Demar, will immediately result in the "can't afford to lose games" argument from several weeks ago.

Lowry should be playing around 32 mpg. Biyombo should lose a few minutes to Bebe. Powell is probably more situational based but Carroll shouldn't be getting 40 mp nights (he's top 10 in that category).

Considering Pop and Spo have both commented on the importance of giving young guys more opportunity to for the betterment of the team, I'm going to side with them over the likes of you.

It ties directly into Casey's poor rotations (which includes JV 4th quarter benchings, Lowry burnout, and odd vet dependent rotations).

                          • I would say the general top concerns of Casey falls into the following:

                            - poor schemes/use of personnel
                            - poor rotations
                            - poor accountability/double standards
                            - poor adjustments
                            - poor tactics (SLOB/BLOB/ATO)

Casey didn't coach DD as a rookie and those teams were not playoffs teams.
