  • i think we all know we arent bandwagon fans so it doesnt apply lol
ive seen every game the guy has coached and it is more than fair to say he hasnt improved nearly enough to stick around
theres a reason we never see a game winning shot from this team unless its a lucky fade away from demar against orlando, or the odd game tying tip in from amir
hes incapable of maximizing the talent on his team, he cant be a head coach

    • A big misconception regarding #FireCasey, is that it's simply because the team is in a slump.. It's beyond that, the Criticism came way before that. Us casey haters were just waiting for the inevitable slump ( much of due to coaching ) to come about for the criticism to hit home harder.
      And that it did...

Ultimately , it's really hard to convince anyone the coaching is bad when they are winning games but unfortunately contested shots and a void offensive strategy can only work for so long.

Now a real offense like that of GSW was the criterion between the two styles and ever since then nothing has been the same

      • Based on 82 games there are three end of quarter possessions every game. Even if Raptor get 50% those are opportunities to at least practice a play to get an open 3 or easy 2. A layup to JV or a planned corner three to Lowry might come in handy at some time. Instead the play is a guard trying to make a "play" which is also the play down under 3 with the last shot.

Maybe it's Casey's grand plan to save it all for playoffs. Then before you know it we start looking like GSW

Waited 7 games last year. Not looking forward to waiting 4-7 games this year. It'll be Lowry crushed under the rim.

            • Is there any point to this thread whatsoever? Has anyone changed their opinion because of this thread? certainly haven't.

Casey haters are still Casey haters. They trot out arguments, sometimes accurate, sometimes absolutely ridiculous. Same for the Casey defenders.

Masai has had plenty of chances to get rid of Casey, two in particular - when he first arrived and when it came time to reup Casey. He didn't. One can reasonably assume (and reasonable assumptions are few and far between here) he doesn't share the "Casey is an idiot" viewpoint held by a very vocal group here.

When he reupped Casey, it was for 2 yrs and not a lot of money. One can reasonably assume MU isn't sold on him either, certainly not to the point he would want to lock him up long term.

MU won't make any decision about Casey based on what we think (is there even 1 season ticket holder among us?).

Anyway, if you actually read this far, ignore what I'm saying and go back to your nattering.
If we knew half as much about coaching an NBA team as we think, we"d know twice as much as we do.

Well this is not a debate on politics where people hold on to their countries and cultures like as if it is Gods will for them to defend it.
This is a basketball forum and I personally don't arrogantly hold on to any view. I've enjoyed this discussion more than any other topic on this forum, so I'm really glad were having this discussion.
It's nice to get both views, and in the end I'm sure even the strongest Casey critics are forced to agree this is the best raptor team / season / coaching staff simply according to win-loss record.
It's something to appreciate but nothing to sit back and be satisfied with ultimately.
Which I'm sure everyone agrees with.

Some pro basketball (Facebook) fans quotes about you guys:

"Katherine North Those who know absolutely nothing about basketball would suggest firing Casey. Typical."
                          "Donovan Pearce Fake fans"
"Mentees Wolf 2nd rate clueless fans"
                          "Ibrahim Ab #firebandwagonfans"
"Ahmed Rashwan This is what happens when Leafs fans jump on a bandwagon. Over reactions to everything and anything!"

I suppose not everyone on RR is a hardcore basketball fan... quite a surprise for me.
The Raptors have some of the loudest, knowledgeable, most critical, most insecure, over-reactive, emotionally-invested, hyper-sensitive and cynical fans in the league.

I mean, the way some guys on this board write about Casey makes them sound like psychotic ex-girlfriend. Like, they really get upset when Casey gets a compliment or credit for anything, and celebrate and relish when he fails (even though that means the team fails). Even Zarar is guilty of these kind of histrionics.

I ain't hating. I like posting on this board. But Raptor fans should be more self-aware. We're the Frank Grimes of basketball fans. The media loves trolling, pandering and picking on the Raptors fan base, because we're so sensitive and easy to manipulate.
