  • I think there are concerns with personnel as well as scheme on the defensive side. I'm tired of Lou jacking long 3s and not being able to hang on defense. GV is not a guy that should be a starter or logging a ton of minutes on this team. He used to be a good PnR guy, now I'm pretty sure he just gives up defensively and YOLO shots everything on offense. Casey should be scaling back GVs minutes big time, getting James Johnson in there at the 3, and I actually believe Lou should be the odd man out. Trade him.

That goes along with the rest of my complaints about Casey. His rotations are bad beyond just the benching of JV

      Good post.

Those plays only cause more frustration because the Raptors do have talent and they do have the ability to play a much more efficient and effective style of basketball.

There is always the talk of building a program and culture but what program and culture are the Raptors building this season? Selfish, me first ISO offense combined with a scrambling, ineffective defense? There is nothing tough, grind it out, beat you up about this current team... overall. As Doc Rivers said, all the lip service to those type of attributes are a mirage.

So in summary, I'm not too sure what the point of this current season is as I am not seeing anything I hope to see the team carry over in to future seasons.
Nailed it right there. That, for me, is becoming the big issue. One of the things that Masai stressed from Day 1 was the idea of building a culture here. The only culture I see is, this is where you'd want to come play if you love jacking up shots and don't have to care about playing defence.

Lou has the green light to do as he wishes . After watching interviews you'll see that those are " shots he usually makes"

Go to raptors.com and check out Casey's recent interview close to te end

              • I wasn't a JV fanboy, DD and Ross have been my main guys for a long time now, but it's hard to criticise casey without praising JV, and the guy puts up top 10 centre numbers in 10 minutes less than any of the other guys, he puts up good points with nearly no plays called for him, gets a decent amount of rebounds despite having to run out to the three point line often, and while he doesn't block many shots, he's good at altering shots in the inside, if I remember right he is our best guy for oFG% at the rim, but sub him for an undersized centre in the crunch for defence right guys?

                • Cole's the obvious moron there, but why does Whiteside go along with it???

Um, we're talking about what he IS, not what he will be.

Dude, you just don't know what you're talking about... So confidently I might add. Yeah, you have an incredible eye. All the rest of us are just enjoying the game. Only you can see beneath. He's not a "player". Well that is astounding fucking insight dude. Please teach me.

Also, let me know when I'm allowed to live in the future when discussing potential and upside. And when I'm allowed to live in the past when discussing previous performance oh gifted one.

Discussion and debate are good, when done so respectfully... keep it civil and leave the personal jabs out of it.

                          • I just wanted to throw Casey, Demar and Ross some love.

Lowry's size can be an issue — Opposing teams have figured out that Lowry (and the team) can be shut down with ball-pressure and longer, taller defenders. It seems like both Demar and Ross are making an effort to pass and create more. Step in the right direction.

Very good read. Thanks for sharing.

I always liked the tools Jeremy Lamb has and I also think he can be a very good player in the right situation.
