    Eerie isn’t it.

    Similarities cannot be denied

Derozan led team and a VanVleet led team

#igotus HERO ball brand of basketball

    Bulls this season
Raptors in the near future if Masai shells out 25% of his cap to pay a 6th man at best to lead this team to mediocrity.

    Sell high.
So, so sad to say it but. #SELLHIGH

Similarities yes, though the VanVleet led team might be worse???? Then again, he doesn't have his Lowry to fix everything.

I think Masai/Bobby are aware enough to realize extending FVV is a bad idea. I sure hope so anyway!

In any case. Let's restart this thing. Or at least give Pascal a better shot than what we're giving him.

    • As a team we are consistently in the bottom tier of the leeague in assists per game (6th worst), The style of play that the team is playing has become hard to watch. I can watch a losing team if it is playing hard and with energy. This squad does not have that going on right now.

When Pascal was breaking out he was getting a couple easy baskets a game rim running, where has that gone? I know our 3 point shooting is an issue, but better ball movement can fix a bit of that. Catching the ball from a drive, draw and kick out in rythym vs. standing in the corner waiting and watching a guy dribble 10 times would help.

We need to either buy into some added ball movement on offense or trade the ball stallers for the sake of development.

        • I found him sitting at 307th of 478 players (teeny tiny sample guys on both ends of the spectrum kind of cancel out).

Other players on the same page of results (grouped in sets of 50):
          Herb Jones
          LeBron James
          Precious Achiuwa
          Ant Edwards
          Malcolm Brogdon
          Josh Hart
          Kevon Looney
          Tobias Harris
          Gary Trent Jr
          Kyle Lowry
          Brandon Ingram
          Jusuf Nurkic

... and all of it means nothing because DFG% really is just noise.

            Yes I totally agree.

At first, Before the season started (bench beauties thread)….I really thought that they should have VanVleet be the first guy off the bench, he is the most ideal sixth man microwave scorer who can anchor the offense off the bench and at the same time they can control his minutes. That would allow Siakam and Barnes to get the full liberty of the helm whichever they want their ship to go (game against ATL and San Antonio were perfect examples). They however made the call to bench Trent instead and that backfired on their faces and started this whole debacle. Benching Barnes that one game was really a bad move also.

All that being said, showcasing VanVleet as a starter with the intention of trading him is a glass half full option.

At this stage of the game….Doubling down and paying him 25% of the cap (because that seems to be the ask of him and his agent, the reason of this contract under limbo) could just be the worse move of Masai in his tenure as a Raptors main man. As you said, let’s hope so that will not happen. Trading him now for value is the most prudent way, giving Pascal a better shot and maximizing Barnes full potential as well.

Sheesh is that really a quote??????????????????

If so that is just wild. Well he sure has got his money. And what have the Raptors got??? Not a lot of playoff wins in the last few years.

Also, FVV off the bench sounds good. Kind of like Russell Westbrook. Useful skills but just not started level especially when you are 5'10!!! (or whatever FVV is)

But yes trading him before his value is 0 and you lose him for nothing seems good at this point too since he is as far as it seems not willing to accept a contract for the actual value he is worth. So I guess keep starting him until you find a buyer???? I sure hope that's what's going on here.

Come to think of it where was FVV during out 2019 run??????????? THE BENCH. WHERE HE BELONGS AND IS USEFUl.

Well, I hope things get better. Masai's supposed to be really good at his job and Bobby's good with the cap or something???

He just reached his ceiling, that is the Bottomline

The Raptors made him rich while he was on the brink of being unemployed….and in return he has ALREADY given the Raptors a good return of investment by being an integral part of the Championship team.

But nothing is eternal….both parties should move on.

I have not seen Fred used in that role in quite some time. He was shooting open threes off ball movement with his feet set, attacked closeouts and was bailed out on a couple fouls.

Now we see him pound the air out of the ball, launch 35 footters, get into the paint with no plan, and shoot off balnace end of shot clock prayers.

That's my 6th man, 4th option, undersized shooting/combo guard. Good times.
