Almost without exception, the media sides with the star players, not management. They're the ones most wanted for sound clips and interviews and clicks.
At least in Toronto (don’t follow other teams local media much, but I suspect it’s true elsewhere as well) this is 100% off base. Local media always side with management, so as not to lose access, and in hopes of one day maybe breaking a big story. Media gets noth)no like that from players. Grange etc are largely repeating what they’re hearing from front office sources, not players.

    • As I was saying before most of our media companies are intertwined into mlse ownership. Theyre asking questions to their bosses in a way that's why theyre so delicate with their questioning

i remember when media companies werent allowed to own pro sports teams. I think ted turner broke that up with the braves or maybe the yankees did it first

So you've missed Fred being interviewed 8X in various media last week, Pascal was too, so was OG. The press has been overwhelmingly positive on the core players until recently.

Nurse does the obligatory after game presser....

What incentive do you think the media has to push that narrative? If anything the media sides with management to stay in their good graces, so I would think they'd be on the anti-player side of things.

it doesn't have to be strategic. It's just human bias that kicks in.

Exactly like I said. Fred helps the media do their job. Media people have to put food on the table, too.

            • The Phoenix Suns and Orlando Magic have emerged as potential free-agent suitors for Toronto Raptors guard Fred VanVleet, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
              Mo Bamba
              Cole Anthony
              Harris

If they add the Bulls pick, I would “roll up the rim to win”.

for VanVleet and two second round picks

              MoBamba/ Koloko
              Pascal/ Precious
              OG/ Brandon Miller (our pick)
Trent with a newly minted contract/ one of the Thompson twins (Orlando pick via Bulls)
              Scottie/ Cole Anthony

Nice to have Scoot or Wemby but getting two first round picks to address our weakness shooting (Brandon Miller) and an explosive penetrator (one of the twins) would be the best offseason of Masai ever since 2018-19.

              trade VanVleet !

Or trade the two firsts to move up to a team not sold on Scoot

                • I'm confused by wanting Cole Anthony, I thought everyone wanted to move on from a 6'2 point guard?

I suggested making an offer for Cole because he might be available in a trade after he lost his starting role to Fultz. It wasn't to replace Fred, but to play back up to him since we badly need a back up PG.

                        Cole wants a starting role.

                            Addition by subtraction

But also, MoBamba and a first round pick would be nice

Cole Anthony has to buy in to the program or he can be traded in the offseason

                            Just get rid of VanVleet

scoot is 6'2... everyone wanted to move on from the 5'11 one
