That's Masai's job
And getting every non US player to want to play here to stick it to Uncle Sam
Embiid and Giannis should be here with Pascal, OG and Koloko.

If opposing teams are used to Nurse's schemes and have counters: answer is not going conventional. Because teams know how to beat conventional traditional defenses for years now. Raptors need another revolution in thinking and approach.Only one thing matters: We The Champs.

Did Nurse's regular reference to a lack of effort finally work?
The "effort vibe" must have been on!
"There was no question of effort in this game. Nick Nurse copped to issues of energy in diagnosing their loss to Atlanta on the weekend, and his team responded in kind with one of their most forceful performances on the season."Last edited by G__Deane; Tue Jan 17, 2023, 11:11 AM.

Also, it's the Knicks. I maintain that the Raps are way more talented that their record reflects and all our main guys are as healthy as any team right now. Knicks should have never been in this game.

Meh, Raps have been giving that effort every other game it seems like. No consistency.

And yes, it shouldn't take that to beat the Knicks but to thi spoint in the seasons, they're by far the better team and sit 5 spots above the Raps in the East in a not small sample size.

Something is up chemistry wise.
Scottie, last year, was a ball of energy, always smiling. Generally looking like he was having a blast. Not even close to that this year. Even in interviews after
Pascal's reemergence as a star player, earlier this year, he looked like he was having fun. Recently not as much.
FVV is like a sitting duck leader. He's betting on himself with the most he's ever bet. This will/should be the biggest contract of his career. He might have met his match. The pressure might be getting to him. The push he made last year to get into the all-star game might still be lingering.
This coupled with Gary's contract. Pascals and OG's in the near future.
I love the ideas and scheme's that Nurse comes up with. I love the idea of position less basketball. The fact he grinds his starters into the ground and the fact that he has been on record for wanting the best for his guys financially I think are shooting himself in foot currently. You can't please everyone. You can't make everyone on the team a star.
As some have pointed out, maybe they are just getting guys like Gary and Fred out on the floor to maintain/raise their trade value. But if not, something has to change. Guys like Scottie and Pascal thrive when they're having fun. Loosing is not fun. Guys around you stressed about contracts and trades is not fun. Guys trying to up their value at a cost of team basketball is not fun. Guys tired and hurt is not fun.
