I don't know how much he proved.. his team under performed until they traded away Schroeder and then he got his team to the finals. But it was mostly the talent that did that. They didn't skip a beat after they fired him and replaced him with a nobody.
I do agree that guys are entitled a second chance. And if the team is okay with him than that's fine. He's not going to be a magician with this roster we have. It's still super flawed.
Rumors pointing to the direction of Ime as the next hire but who knows if Masai is really going that way. He could hire someone that is not a household name who would prioritize the development of Scottie.
Why would Nurse want to coach the Rockets? They are so far away from being a playoff team.
Much better than the Pistons. And he'll get a minty fresh new 5 year deal for $$$ and be set for life.
Dumb move on our part.
Bring in Udoka and they might not get any worse but the roster is still highly questionable and a far cry from what he had in Boston

All the players in Boston seemed to think he was pretty damn good and turned them in the right direction but you know it was still only trading Schroeder. Wild.

It was mutual. We are going to hear a lot about how the relationship soured with Nurse and management and players. You can’t repair that.

They didn't skip a beat since firing him. They may actually be better than they were last year.
Not really sure what the fascination with Udoka is. He had a great roster in Boston, he had a legitimate superstar in Tatum. They should've been good. The fact that they were in the play in spot back in January last year don't sit well with me.
I want them to hire a young coach. Someone who has experience working for the Raptors. Someone like Jama.
This is pure damage control and and Masai self preservation.
The fans were getting antsy, no playoff revenue, no clear path to making this team better.
So you fire Nurse, bring in Udoka and run it basically back. If they don't finish 6th to higher and show well in the playoffs, Bobby is next to go. Let's see if Masai can start doing his job again. If nothing else, we should have a straight line to all the mega talent coming out of Africa.
