Yeah the 59 mark is irrelevant. Just be top 3 or top 4 and don't spread your ass cheeks open for LeBron to go in dry this time
Oh man, that had me laughing out loud.

Ujiri hired him his first year as GM because Casey was doing so poorly. Presumably so he had the coach he really wanted under contract and ready to takeover when he inevitably fired Casey.
According to Nurse, Casey called him and Nurse met with him and Colangelo. But then when Colangelo got fired him and Casey stayed in touch and then he got hired.

Nah, he'll be measured by post-season success, because that's why his predecessor was fired. Raptors finish the regular season as a mid playoff seed and yet get to the ECF, that's a great first season for Nurse.
Nurse will be measured different then Casey. Like it or not, this team has reached a certain ceiling and in order for the Raptors to get passed the ceiling they would either have to upgrade now quickly or downgrade for a few years by trading their veteran players for future help. I highly doubt anyone (including Masai) will be buying that a new coach alone would have beaten the Cavs with the current roster.

            Casey called him. (at 15:25)
There's more context than that, he said he barely knew Casey prior to the call but the Raptors had attended his last 14 G-League games so they were clearly scouting him as a new assistant. Seems more like Colangelo told Casey to give him a call since he was the guy they wanted to go with as his new assistant.

Unrelated but he said during his meeting with team brass he drew his offensive philosophy on the whiteboard for 4 hours. Anyone here think Casey could draw something basketball related on the whiteboard for 4 hours? Perhaps an intricate drawing of a rock.

              • New coach.
                Same players.
                Same crooked league.
                Same result.

Enjoy another wonderful regular season, but you will never see a finals appearance as long as you live as a Raptors fan.

                Cheers

X and O + after timeout plays. These are the things i really want to see them improve next season.

Casey's after timeout play was trash.
                  Excellent point. Dittos.

Not necessarily true. If LBJ goes to Lakers it will be us or Celtics. We would really need to focus a lot of energy on ways to beat them. That is our path to NBA finals.

There is zero chance he goes to the Lakers. Less than none. He's turning 34, he's not looking to lead a rebuild. He will join a sure thing in Philly and we will have to deal with him in the playoffs every year still.

Playing with 2 youngsters, one who's always injured and who can't shoot is more of a sure thing than playing with Paul George?

It’s doable. CP3 & Lebron sign as max FAs. Lakers send Ingram, Randall & Deng to OKC for PG in a sign and trade. Fill out the roster with veteran ring chasers. Instant super team that actually has a chance to beat GSW.

That sounds way worse than going to Philly where they don't need to make any trades to be the favorite to win the conference. If they do something like Fultz + Pick for Lowry (lots of other options too), that team is freaking stacked and would for sure contend with the Warriors. Lebron doesn't need LA, he wants to win more championships.

But if you're the King and you can take any team to the finals... why would you not want to play with your friends?
