  • Just watched JV on Raptors Today (NBATv) and did he look confident expressing himself with humour and maturity. Loved his general confidence about whats happening with the team (meaning it didnt seem contrived).

Check out his new tat around the neck....a rosary...must be a good catholic lol. Which reminds me...is Madonna (who?) "a good catholic" for wearing/doing a cross?

Ok...I am not trying to start a religion war here!!

Magloire is listed at 6'11 265lbs and Jonas makes him look like a kid

            • JV brings his feet too narrow on his up fakes. Combined with straightening is legs it is a lot of wasted movement.

Even if he gets defender to bite still lots of time to recover.

That is basic foot and post work.

When Jonas isn't in the foreground (illusion of bigger), height difference isn't much. Magloire looks like he has lost so much weight that he's near as thin as he was coming out of college.

Here's hoping he worked on that short jumper a bit more this summer, considering he hasn't taken that (awful) fake out of his post arsenal.

The fake is alright. More than alright actually.

It is his lower half he has to get in sync.

In the post you only need the guy to straighten his legs, not even leave the floor, and you got him.

But if you're straight legged on the fake by the time you bend your legs and get set to go the defender is likely to be back in a defensive stance.

Principles are no different than a shot fake on the perimeter.

                        Two thoughts...

Agree with you. The "problem" with it is largely in the lower portion. Even his quickness with the ball (from shot fake to dribble) is pretty good.

Also, he still has to take the shot a bit more as well. Obviously nothing gets people to bite like them actually believing you will take the shot and hit it.

                          • Three things, I hope that Jonas will develop a few go to moves to be less predictable, that he will take less time to get into it when he gets the ball in the low post, and that he will see the double team coming and be able to pass efficiently out of it.
