That is not pick and roll. 34 used the screen to get the ball - screen came before the catch.
That is poor team defense - not pick and roll.
Pretty clear JV stayed home and protected the rim. If he goes high with his man, it is a backdoor cut for a lob and 2 points.
33 and the guy at the top of the key are watching and late to rotate to bang the cutters.

with him going basically baseline to trap 34. his man was wide open for the easy 2. its bad basketball iq man.
All he needed to do was contest 34s drive with a little step until his teamate recoverd. not got full trap on 34
poor team defense starts with minor fuckups by the players involved. not saying its all his fault but he was in the wrong hereLast edited by yabadabayolo; Wed Aug 12, 2015, 03:03 PM.I'm back. I no longer worship joe johnson

But whatevs.
It is a single play. Not many people hit every single play every single game.

But even at that, i think he defended that well, and 33 should have come over faster.
JV had to give the guard room cause had he stepped out he would have gotten blown by, imo

But maybe i'm biased from years of being hung out to dry by perimeter players.

If 33 rotated onto the cutter then they funneled the ball handler into a situation with no easy outlet save for backing up and resetting.
Initial defense was perfectly fine, rotations afterwards were not.

You're thinking about the game from a high school perspective. These are men playing at senior national level.
At this level they are good enough that if you give them a couple of inches they will pay.
The issue here is rotations after an off ball screen.

Jesus Christ... who cares? It's just some random friendly game. Jonas played his first bball game after the playoffs with a bunch of role players that are trying to crack the final team Lithuania roster against a team that hasn't been in Eurobasket for the last 30 or 40 years. You're all overanalysing the hell out of that pic.MeDar ReDozan
