    We definitely do.

JV has shown us that he can be the 3rd or the 4th option on the offence in a championship team.
He has shown that he is a solid starter in this league and we can depend on him in that role for years to come.

Now, can he become a dominating force in this league ?? I don't think so since we have not seen anything like that from him in NBA or in International levels.
He's also improved fairly significantly year to year despite very few touches at all, and hes a 24 year old European big man who, unlike Americans, especially guards and wings, the euro big men usually have their best nba seasons from say age 28 to 33.

You've basically summarized what jv was last year. To put a wrap on his ceiling now is extremely premature

    • Might have to give some credit to the Nigerian team rather than simply criticize Lithuania - they're playing right with Spain tonight

We were criticizing our guy JV, not Lithuania.

                  Low scoring affair so far

                  • Never thought I would pine for the Raptors' offence. LIT seems allergic to getting JV the ball. Screen after screen after screen. Wide open in deep post up opportunities. No matter, let's jack a contested jumper.

JV seems like the only Lithuanian who decided to show up to play tonight. Porous defence and sloppy offence keeping Argentina in it.

They've been pronouncing other valen-see-unis all tournament-who knows, maybe that's closer to the Lithuanian pronunciation and valen-chew-nas is just what North American announcers use because it's easier?

                            • vah-lan-chew-nas should be. Honestly people on this site's podcasts doing good job on pronunciation

                              • JV looks a bit more agile which is good. It's interesting that LTU's Coach uses JV just like coach Casey.
