CJ McCollum diagnosed with the worst sounding injury possible, collapsed lung. There may be worse injuries for length, but that sounds the worst to me.
All depends on the severity... I had a collapsed lung when I was in my early 20's, he likely just needs a few weeks of R&R.

Yeah I get that it's not actually that bad of an injury, but it sounds horrible, much worse than it actually is.

More guys sitting out over here for weeks. My default setting this season is three top 30 guys sitting out.

Kawhi Leonard, Vic Oladipo, TJ Warren and Rui Hachimura have yet to play a single game between them this year. Add in all my other games missed with guys like Nerlens Noel, rookie Jalen Johnson (tearing up G-league), and Otto Porter among others and I am surprised I even have a record of 1-7.

                    • Looks like the next 2-3 weeks of games is just going to be decided by who has the least amount of player in protocols/have game postponed.
No we are all wishing injuries were all we worried about

                      • That Lebron trade not looking too bad right now. #1 player this year overall per game average

                        • A lot of that is because of the emergence of Desmond Bane.

The leap Bane has taken probably joins Ja Morant’s All-NBA breakout into the coolest player development for the Grizzlies this season. The Grizzlies prioritized his development this offseason by trading away incumbent starter Grayson Allen and by giving him valuable on-ball reps in the Summer League. They’re paying the dividends off of it.

Again, the benefits of actually having a NBA offseason, as opposed to starting training camp 2 weeks after the draft and regular season hoops a month and 5 days after.

In the midst of Bane’s rise, he’s gaining a lot of attention. His case for the Most Improved Player award continues to grow. He’s been a frequent topic on national podcasts when the Grizzlies’ performance has been discussed, including ESPN’s Brian Windhorst suggesting that Ja Morant and Desmond Bane might be a top-5 backcourt in the league right now on his Hoop Collective podcast. Analysts are doing statistical comparisons with Desmond Bane and sophomore-year Klay Thompson. And there was also this fascinating tweet that shows what Bane has done better than some of the league’s best talent this season:

And through all that, Bane’s status within the Grizzlies pecking order has changed, just not in shot attempts but in long-term prioritization. Prior to this season, he’d likely be lumped into the same category as Dillon Brooks, De’Anthony Melton, and Brandon Clarke. It’s fair to say that his “untouchable” status should be closer to Jaren Jackson Jr.’s than that crowd.

                          Bane has been that good

Ranked 18th in our league to date. Wow, buckle up.

...And to think, Masai passed on him late in the draft. One of his rare blunders.

                          • its not really a GM blunder if all other 28 GM's in the league also passed on Bane before Masai. I doubt even the Grizzlies would've taken him top 10 that year if they had a pick available to draft him then. the draft can be extremely difficult to predict especially past early lottery...
                            in masai we trust

water covers 98% of the earth, Mitchell Robinson covers the other 2%

The volume of people who are wrong in a draft doesn't erase the mistake. Look at the world's pollution problem, is that not a blunder despite billions getting it wrong?

Bane was rated a late lottery pick but he slipped. If the draft is as much blind luck as you describe it then we should all retract our praise in Masai drafting guys like OG and Pascal. I don't agree with that though. Masai is really good at his job but he missed on Bane and may have drafted the Riddler instead.

Speaking of players having breakout seasons

Compared to last year, Lebron is now averaging
                                1% more from the field,
                                8% more from FT,
                                almost 1 more 3PG,
                                3 more PPG
                                .5 more SPG
                                .5 more BPG
                                .5 fewer TO’s
                                1st on the season.

The man doesn’t age and everyone who criticized that trade will eat crow when the Tucas Tunesquad win the chip this year led by the king
