I know its late to have a put the multi year option on Hawkins. Its was my intent to hold onto him. I used the DPE method but that is not the way to do it.

DPE designations are only available to players a manger "drafts" at the 16 team rookie entry draft ... and in that draft there is only 1 round. A team can select one player per 1st round draft pick in their possession. There is no round 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 like in FF.

Then you move to a secondary draft for all remaining players in the pool. The auction draft. These are two discrete events....
Once your team is filled out with 15 players during the auction draft you post your new cap sheet and then any pick ups are waiver wire additions subject to the settings described above.

We are trying to emulate a real NBA off-season, so the rookie draft is a true draft but just 1 round of 16 picks, while the Yahoo Auction is really our simulation of NBA summer free agency.

[Demographic Shift]

1. Jordan Hawkins is not DPE eligible. That tag can only got to players selected in the August Rookie Draft,

2. You can re-sign any 2 of your players with 1 year remaining on their deal(they technically go to 0 once the season ends). You would not be able to re-sign a players you pickup after you cross the Mendoza Line(40 is OK, 41 no bueno).

3. All teams get $200 FAAB money to enter the Auction Draft. Any remaining funds from the draft carry over into the regular season for use on the waiver wire.
I spent $200 on Tyus Jones in auction, so I have $0 remaining for the WW.

4. You can pick a player up 10 times off the WW if you wish, however he would count as 1 year each time he's added.

You now have Brook Lopez at 2 years but he should be at 1 year as per your Oct 27 cap update. Remember, offseason adds must have contracts before the season begins. You get 7 days to dole out contracts for waiver wire adds if you're under the cap. Once you reach 7 days it's assumed they are on 1 year deals.

Questions..

I am assigning the DPE tag to my only rookie Jordan Hawkins... That comes into play next year when I can resign him for a new duration of what I choose when his iniital 1 year deal runs out . Is this correct ?

I get two (2) mulligans where I can resign players who entered this season on a 1 year deal.
Eg. So if old man river LBJ says he is coming back I can use a mulligan on him next year

Do I get another 200 or 100 bucks in FAAB money to begin the next year ?

Can I bring back off the waiver wire guys I may have previously cut and they come back in at their previous contract valuation or can I assign them a value of 1.
