Much to read over, we have. I don't need my head spinning before my long weekend.

Ya, I had some real work meetings, but I told them I had really important fantasy basketball stuff to work through. They understood.

But I also forget that people don't have their settings set to show 40 posts per page.

I think the most recent few posts from Dan and Mars summarize things pretty well on what I think is good formwork for something to put forward for a vote.

Specifically:
a) pre-determined nomination order using FAAB, and if tied, cap space, and if that's tied, random order.
b) $200 available for everyone at time of auction, but then allow carry-over FAAB added to that, up to $500 max (or whatever we decide).
c) FAAB available to be traded in the off season. Carry over occurs at time of auction.

Example:
Axel would have gone into Auction with $201 ($1 left over from last year)
Koncept - $212 ($12 left over)
drizz - $379 ($179 left over)
berta - $214 ($14 left over)
Joeys - $231 ($31 left over)
Coach - $224 ($24 left over)
WJF - $389 ($189 left over)
Great One - $231 ($31 left over)
Everyone else at $200.

The MAX one can carry into auction is really the point of discussion now.

Yep, this will be up for discussion for the next little while I would guess. But, I think we should try and have direction in time for the auction, so people can know whether or not carry over is something to consider in bids.

jeez, people are really into this one.

Of the proposals I've tried to read (and understand), I like the carry over option. It's clean, simple, and effective. I would have spent differently last year to benefit this year with that, and that's a good sign that it has strategic impact.

Overall though, how many of those $200 bids really work out? Going through historical drafts, a few players get it each draft but most are mediocre players because we have all gotten better at managing our cap sheets and moving players to avoid losing anyone all that great. I personally think leaving as is is a perfectly suitable option here, cause I dont think the issue is with $200 bids, as much as our auction options are usually pretty slim.

that's the thing most of our auctions are pretty slim as you mentioned. most people sit on $200 throughout the season. I don't have an issue with the $200 max and I'd vote to not add carry over.

I am in favour of changing the draft order of the auction to be based off cap space rather than random.

How about an "apron" sort of thing like the NBA just implemented. Something like if you do a $200 bid one year the next season you only get $199 of FAAB? Then next year resets to full amount.

I think no matter what the Amount 200, 300, 750 we are always going to have max bids. But if we penatilize max bids even 1 dollar. Someone won't be able to do it two years in a row.

Ya, that's basically the Tax that Apollo had proposed. I wasn't against it, but I think we determined that it sort of accomplishes the same thing, just differently.
