To Toronto: Gordon Hayward, Enes Kanter, Brandon Rush
To Utah: DeMar DeRozan, Patrick Patterson
Trade would have to wait til Feb 10 so Patterson, Vasquez, Hayes can be traded along with other players.
This trade would give the Raptors a couple positions they've lacked and fill out the roster nicely. The Raptors would get a legit starting SF (not to mention Hayward can also play the 2 if need be) and a backup C to Jonas in Kanter, who can also start if he has to. (He started at the beginning of the season for the Jazz but has come off the bench lately) Rush would be added to the trade for depth.
Would this be enough for the Jazz to pull the trigger? DeMar has been playing at an All-Star level this season so maybe. But the biggest factor in them accepting a trade like this is the fact that Hayward declined an extension earlier this season, possibly meaning he'll walk at the end of the season. This wouldn't be the first time this happened to Utah, with Jefferson and Millsap doing so this past off-season. DeMar being locked for 4 years would probably be a plus since Utah is probably not a big market for free agents. They would still have a nice, young core of Burke-DeRozan-either Wiggins or Jabari-Favors-Burks-Gobert for the future.
Would Toronto do this? I realize this would give us Utah's problem, and this trade can absolutely backfire on us lol. Only if Hayward would sign with us for sure I guess.
Biggest problem of this trade is that Lowry and Hayward are both due to be free agents after this season. Would they both stay here? We'll probably have to dish out a lot. Since Hayward declined an extension earlier this season, does he want max contract money? Brad Stevens was his old college coach at Butler, he'll probably at least consider going to the Celtics. Both these guys are probably coveted in the league, so they're both going to hear some good offers this off-season.
