Raptors and Warriors

Raptors resigns Serge Ibaka (2 year contract), Norman Powell, OG Anunoby to Warriors for Klay Thompson and Eric Paschall in the summer.

Why Raptors: We get a sharpshooter in Klay Thompson who might recover well from one year of rehab, he will be our starting SG. Eric Paschall is an interesting player, could be our starting PF or he can backup Pascal Siakam when we acquire Giannis Antetokoumpo.

Why Warriors: They get a two year service of Serge Ibaka who I believe at this stage is better than Draymond Green. Norman Powell has been balling and could be a decent starting SG for the team since he will be playing alongside Curry and Wiggins, could really take his game to another level. OG would be a nice prospect for them as well.

So: I don't know a lot about Eric Paschall but.

(1) We're giving up 2 defensive guys OG + Norm, while replacing them with... Eric Paschall, a man who might not even be as good as either defensively! Not to mention Norm has basically become Demar without the passing on offense of late.

(2) Klay Thompson is good. But he's older than Serge, and doesn't play the same position. Who's going to play back up centre? Boucher? And that's assuming we resign Marc!

So: this gives us (maybe) 1 better offensive player while giving up 2 guys in Norm and Serge who are very good-great offensively. Defense wise we get 1-2 decent defenders (maybe?!) for 1-2 defensive all stars (OG + Serge), and 1 very good defensive player.

To recap, after this trade:

GS: 2 great offensive players, 1-2 incredible defensive players
TOR: 1 great offensive player, 2 okay defenders
