The offset to watching Trudeau and Butts cut off the left arm of one of the engines of Canadian prosperity is less pollutants in the air. Yet these same two high priests of Climate Evangelism happily sell coal to China who powers their infrastructure off of a far dirtier source of energy than oil or LNG. China releases more pollutants in a month than Canada might in a decade.

Both Shrewd and Hypocritical on the dynamic duos part eh?

Happy your done defending the indefensible.
I appreciate the back 'n forth and happy to defend my position on the subject. But that you leave out an important factoid in the charge about coal exports and related hypocrisy ... is not good cricket. So, a few words...
OTTAWA — Canada’s export development bank is getting entirely out of the coal game but will continue to fund the oil and gas sector as the world transitions towards cleaner sources of energy.
As well, no one here has ever advocated for a shutdown of the O & G industry. I hope you are just as loudly vociferous about the coal miners in BC. There is a diversification taking place ...of thinking.

And in breaking news:

“This was all about trying to make sure the value of this firm is fully recognized in its share price and looking out for shareholders,”

... said Suttles the ceo of Encana for about 4 years now and a US (Tx) citizen. This is american capitalists do especially those who have no connection with this country. I understand this concept. They'll sell their first born for a ten percent rise in stock value.

And you guys busy dumping on Ottawa & JT are losing the forest view. To be fair he also said no jobs to be lost here ... but I wouldn't put any money on it.

Translation: they are staying but desire the unfettered access and rebranding opportunities they may enjoy to the south. .

Encana is leaving Calgary because its board and its CEO believe that the business climate is now untenable for them long term. They are not leaving Calgary as part of a rebranding exercise. They are leaving for a more stable and evenly regulated business climate. One that doesn't shift the rules of the game every few months with legislation aimed at curtailing their long term investment potential and exacerbated by no shows at the Federal Court of Appeal on additional peripheral court challenges. Its like having Marc Davis and Tony Brothers at their best on the whistle at every crucial Raptor playoff game.

Its just a company right ?
For our Montreal contributors this is like Bombardier moving to Seattle.
For the Toronto crew.. Think of TD moving to Boston.

That they have publicly announced they are leaving Canada sends a pointed signal that there are serious regulatory risks to doing business in Justin Trudeaus Canada.

Again...The Liberal Party of Canada under the energy stewardship of Butts and Teleford and Trudeau has knowingly engaged on a path towards the systemic dismantling of the primary industry of a province for no demonstrable tangible gain to the country as a whole.

And tonights lead story on the MSM will be on the next step on what will inevitably be a still born impeachment process which will die before the election.

Meanwhile Canada which faces an increasingly divided country due to Trudeaunomics will have this story behind Reds Garage defeating Mikes ESSO in the beer league softball championships.

I sense you are speed reading my posts ... but the above I have addressed often with my set of reasoning. The country is fine and so is AB. The oil patch isn't going anywhere ... nor being "dismantled". Sorry.

Please accept a picture of 3 fine public servants ...always on your mind ...possibly not absolute top tier historically... but 65% of the country think acceptable for the time being.

Stand on a street corner in Fort Mac or Calgary and tell them AB is fine. Let them know Ottawa and especially Justin has their back. Gotta think that the 34 to 0 shutout they threw at him says that’s going to fall on deaf ears.

Make sure you take a before and after selfie so we can identify you without dental records.

Its not fine.

Not in the least.

If “it’s fine” ..It’s about as fine as when you ask your spouse if everything is OK and she tells you in the tone that only husbands know..” It’s fine” .

I have already seen what some did to a wall mural of Greta T.

The corollary (somewhat) to the above is :

In this episode

The islands falling apart because of climate change

The Magdalen Islands in eastern Canada have warmed more than 2.3 degrees Celsius since the late 19th century. That’s more than 4 degrees Fahrenheit – and more than twice the global average.

“They're in the middle of this gulf, which used to be covered with ice for a large part of the winter and kind of protected these islands from the winter storms,” environmental reporter Brady Dennis says. “That ice has been disappearing.”

That disappearance, as well as sea-level rise, have caused the islands to crumble into the sea, leaving residents to reckon with how to adapt to their rapidly changing home.

This article is part of The Post’s series, 2°C: BEYOND THE LIMIT, about the fastest-warming places around the world.
A coincidental report indeed. And speaks to the larger issues of CC and the impact this has in different ways to Canadians on the other side of this land mass albeit in profoundly negative ways. The solutions are not easy and the science is solid.

There is a podcast in the link below and the above subject matter is the first of 3 on it:

Admittedly I had not been following the employment/un "crisis" projected by a segment of the forum.... with a special emphasis on the maggot Justin Trudeau's purposeful destruction of Alberta's employment base.

Can someone explain the following Alberta unemployment graph please?

https://economicdashboard.alberta.ca/Unemployment

JT comes to office end of 2015 having taken over from that protector of western interests, Stephen Harper. Trend line continues thru 2016 (expected). A "precipitous" drop starts occurring starting 2017, wasn't a socialist, Notley, in charge as prov. premier? 2018 and 2019 show a fairly steady/straight line.

So? I see a 7.6 % rate around Jan. 2016 when JT takes over ... and a 6.6 % today.

Nothing to write home about ... but the gnashing and clenched jaws here? Really?

The fraud and corruption trial of a former SNC-Lavalin executive has heard of an attempt by a lawyer representing the accused to pay off a key Crown witness currently on the stand.

I actually like this ... I'd say the cartels in Mexico pose a much larger threat to US Security than any other issue going on outside US borders currently. Not sure if it's too late at this point, or what can be done ... I did see Narcos ... but ya, I'm cool with this - wipe em all out.

Quebec's "historic anglophones" will be dictated by Bill 101, Quebec's premier said Tuesday after at least one politician asked the CAQ government how it plans to figure out who qualifies for English services in the province.

There's a little link icon at the top left corner of the box I am looking at right now. If I click it, I get the option to add a link and then I cut and past in the box that comes up and hit 'add link'. EDIT: It's the only feature I have figure out since the forums changed!

Nice. Thank you sir!

Test:
President Trump offered to help Mexico root out violent drug cartels after a clash between gangs killed at least nine Americans.

Re Mexico, it seems to me that the Americans should declare the cartels terrorist organizations and start seizing their assets and go after the politicians and bankers who launder the money for them.

I mean, I get that the northern border of Syria is the most important border in the world to the American establishment but you think everyone (and on a non-partisan basis) would be just a little concerned about multiple massive paramilitary organizations encamped directly south of you that effectively control your neighbouring country and can now defeat its military in open conflict. Is no one worried about this?
