Just because you keep saying it doesn't make it true. Everyone is ignoring you on this since you clearly haven't gotten the response you are looking for.
I could say the same for the climate clergy.
    And I will.

Contrary to the total and abject miss on the scripture of Gore .. that were dogmeat in 12 years as blurted from the pulpit in 2006 in the sermon of an inconvenient truth.... we are all still here.

I may change my personal perspective when Greta goes to Moscow or Beijing or Mumbai and is welcomed with open arms and a commitment to change as that would signal a true changing of stance on climate by all parties as opposed to climate marches in safe zones in Vancouver and Toronto. .

Until then.. Canada is blithely pursuing a strategy of being a country who is proudly standing in the no peeing section of a pool that has raw sewage being dumped into it by China, India and others regardless and irrespective of the economic hardship that is a byproduct of the this flavour of the month strategy.

There is no majority buy in my friend. . none.

    Keep swinging.

fixed your point for you. we should starve now so later, we might not starve. smart socialist idea.

that canada, a country that decreases co2, has to suffer for china, and india is a disgrace, but that's socialism. it doesn't make shitty places like china, and india better. it makes good places like canada worse.

i agree with you and joey here. trudeau doesn't like canada, it is racist disgusting place, and his vision is for a post national state. he doesn't care to help canada, he cares to help socialism. so you guys are both correct.
The only appropriate response to these is the biggest of eye rolls ...

Au contraire my fellow Shatbot hating friend. The Church of Climatology brokers no heretics. You either accept the divine teachings of Suzuki as absolute or you are a denying piece of shit to be tossed to the curb. Such is the fate of all religions.. an inability to tolerate other pedestrian viewpoints such as economics that even remotely challenge the one true faith.

Dogmatic to the very core. When downtown Calgary does not flood and the east coast of North America remains pretty much as it is in 12 years will there be a softening of belief or will the end of days simply slide to the right ?
in 12 years it will be an existential threat that could destroy the world in 12 years unless we give more money to government to fight it. co2 levels will be the same as now or higher, so we will have to pay more since this didn't work.

it will never not be 12 years away from death, they are scientists who know that their conclusions can change, but not their ideals.

        • So, this Vindman guy leaks the contents of the Ukrainian call to CIA guy he knows and some others. CIA guy then becomes a "whistleblower".Vindman then gets told by lawyer not to speak up chain of command cause he is compromised, which is what eh should have done in the first place. Then, Vindman corroborates the "whistleblower's" story cause Vindman leaked the story to him. Are you fucking kidding me? What kind of sorry ass operation is this? If you're going to conspire to remove the President at least get some competent people with a decent plan to do it. These morons are frauds.

And how many times was this guy asked to be Ukrainian defense minister? Three? How is that normal? Unless, of course, it's all a lie like the rest of his testimony, which wouldn't be surprising cause the guy fabricated his own resume to Congress (which is a big-brain idea ahead of a hearing where you're the star witness)…..

What solution? Change to an alternative economy? What the hell does that even mean? How? When? To what? Just saying you're going to fundamentally change the entirety of an economy/society doesn't make it so. That essay doesn't address anything. You don't just create an economy. You don't just fundamentally alter economies. Anyone who thinks you can do that and appreciate the consequences is far too dangerous to ever be put in power over anything.

The same people in Calgary who want to be in charge of fundamentally altering the world can't even build a bus line properly. The same people in Ottawa who want to fundamentally alter the economy can't even put a simple payroll system in place! How the fuck are they going to create an alternative economy?

Again, the science needs to be distinguished from the policy, the latter of which has turned into a religion with its own Joan of Arc and high priests of climate.
But no one (not I definitely) is suggesting turning on a dime re transforming Alberta's O&G economy. We have mentioned/used the fairly benign and oft suggested economic planning policy term "diversification". Gotta take this seriously... just as a matter of good governance and public investment into other areas of sustainable growth and employment opportunities.

Alberta Can Transition from Oil and Gas and Have a Strong Economy. Here’s How
Seems like there are people seriously thinking about this very issue. But I find no one here offering any positivity to the need for change. Is the current Ab govt.? Or are we just going to throw up our hands and blame equalization etc. to continue with current practices. This is not even a O&G or CC argument anymore. You have seen the downward trends of oil production and pricing ...world wide.

AB is not alone. And no one minimizes the investment required and time needed for maturity of other sectors. And the alternative to a dwindling demand for the resource you have in plenty (and not the best quality) is what?

            • Here's another question: Schiff keeps telling witnesses not to answer certain questions cause they might identify the "whistleblower", yet, he claims he doesn't know who the whistleblower is, so, how the hell does he know what questions would expose the "whistleblower"? And how the hell does Vindman know which questions will expose this guy cause he claims he doesn't know who it is either! This Vindman guy should be in jail right beside Roger Stone in jail but we all know that won't happen cause if you're a Democrat, you get to lie to Congress with impunity.

LOL. Okay, here's how far I got:

                1. Guy who runs a company placing fired oil and gas workers gets a free add for his business.
                2. Guy #2 and some random who think that you just put everyone out of work to work cleaning up old oil and gas wells. Seemingly no consideration is given to: who will pay for such a task, who will bear the risk of the clean-up, whether certain wells should even be disturbed, whether the vast resources required to do all of this could be better spent.
                3. A few other randos with some pie in the sky, poorly thought out ideas around lithium batteries and hyrdrogen. Yep, you fucking geniuses, no one has ever considered any of that before. Everyone is just sitting around waiting to go bankrupt. No one on the planet has thought of any of that before, nope. And, hey, if these are so lucrative, why don't you guys do them and make yourselves billionaires? There is tonnes of capital in AB with nowhere to go. Start your own "hydrogen industry" (fuck me) and then you can give all your profits to the poor! Good luck getting through the environmental regulations to get any of that done as well.
                4. Set up Alberta ARAMCO to own what's left of the oil and gas (a socialist's wet dream, government owns everything!).
                5. Cause it's the Tyee, some good ol', everyone in oil and gas is racist and hates the aboriginals stuff... but everyone in the new lithium-based Star Trek world will love them!

                Then I stopped.

You do realize that the Whistleblower law protects the identity of the same for obvious reasons ...normally but especially in the case of the current felon's presidency. All Schiff is doing is protecting any questioning in circumstances where there was a identity revelation possibility. Ergo, if the individual was a office cleaner he would have no objection with the revelation. However as it is public knowledge that the Wb is an intelligence officer, a mere name being revealed would be thru deduction place suspicion on another Intelligence officer in the "neighbourhood".

Your ridiculous theorizing that Schiff or Vindeman are lying is poppycock.

Hope this explains the deductive methodologies being used by the Republicans. To what end I don't know since all of the details revealed by the Wb have been corroborated independently or multiply

Vindman must be a Deep Stater to you? ... rather that he is a career army man and served in Iraq with injury and decoration.... unlike of course compared to your hero Mr. Bonespurs who got multiple deferments during Vietnam and later joked "likens avoiding contracting STDs during his single years to Vietnam ". Har har.

                      • Hong Kong is under siege, Iran is in flames, CN Rail is on strike, Canada voted against Israel at the UN, the economy is slowing, and the questions for PM after his cabinet appointments are about climate change and women. LOL.

I have two questions. The first is for our new Minister of Middle Class Prosperity: How do you define the middle class? My second question is for the Minister of Digital Government: What is it you would say you do around here?

I will say this though, Trudeau listened to Kenney and Moe and then went, yeah, fuck you guys, you don't vote for me, then here's Seamus O'Regan and Catherine McKenna on your files. And here's a shit sandwich for your flight back to the hinterlands. Oh, you'd like some more? Here, let me grab this broom handle you jackasses and now just bend over. Gotta give it to the guy - he plays for keeps while his opponents play beanbag.

Maybe I should just say it louder.

The Liberal Party of Canada under the energy stewardship of Butts and Teleford and Trudeau has knowingly engaged on a path towards the systemic dismantling of the primary industry of a province for no demonstrable tangible gain to the country as a whole.

the demonstrable gain is wealth redistribution. canada belongs to the government, they get decide who gets what money, and how that money gets to them. you don't have to believe in slavery to be a socialist, but it helps a lot. the trick is mental gymnastics that tells you its your right to take other peoples stuff.

you albertans get to live with the altered deal, and pray they don't alter it any further. remember, all they are saying is you have to change your industry, soclialists just tell you what you can't do. so you guys also better hurry, when alberta collapses they will take the country with them. we know the problem isn't the socialism being added, so we can try adding some socialism to the future problem being created by the socialism here, but can maybe your side come up with a doomsday like forecast we can use to brainwash children and sow the fear of god into them with.

you will notice throughout communism revolutions and the after effects they always get the children to turn on the parents, and also everyone starves. there are still comics of the good grandson who turns in his grandfather and parents to the ccp for being russian spies, or capitalists.

                              • Very pleased that one of my favourites in the current govt. Ms. Chrystia Freeland, was made Dep. Prime Minister of Canada, a post not held since 2006. She has handled/led some important international negotiations notably the Canada-UK free trade agreement and most recently (and ongoing) , Nafta. I see her as possibly taking over from JT in my opinion. She has a terrific resume.
