  • That's too bad. Good guy and team player. Hope he recovers.

Patterson is broken. He never recovered from last year's injury.
      4.9 reb, 7.9 pts per 36 minutes....yikes

      under 15 min a game...yikes

Wondering if he's regretting his free agency choice. Seems like he wanted to win but play with Westbrook and not Kyle and Demar (also lack of interest on Masai's part seemed fairly mutual) but IIRC Carmelo and George weren't there yet. May have been better off going to like a Brooklyn or a Charlotte where he can be a key piece and keep his name out there. He may struggle to stay playing NBA basketball at this rate.

TBH at the amount he signed for would have been nice to have him as a bench stretch 4...although Siakam has been intriguing and energetic. Kind of crazy that we don't really miss any bench guys or need to add any bench guys at the deadline at the expense of our young guys at each position

The ideal Patterson would have been great to have at that price. But I don't think that player exists anymore.

Good thing we found a new and improved (and definitely angrier) Patterson before he fell off a cliff

          • I liked Patterson and appreciated him as a solid glue guy but always felt he was vastly overrated in Raptorland because of his +/- and on/off numbers, which were always inflated because of the guys playing in front of him.

Yeah, I think much of the discussion was not about how great Patterson was, but how stupid it was to have those guys playing in front of him. Ibaka was a game changer in that regard.

That said, it's not like the Raps were just OK with Patterson on the floor compared to terrible with those other guys - the Raptors destroyed teams with Patterson on the floor. He fit amazingly well with the team's structure and stars. Before he broke himself, of course.
