Norman Powell looks a lot like Russell Westbrook when he runs and dunks. The guy is so damn EXPLOSIVE. Must be UCLA water.

I can't quite tell if people suggesting we can move DeMar and should trade other established players are serious or not. Just remember Ross had a 50 point game and we all thought he was going to be very good. I like what Powell is doing with his opportunity but we need to gear down and think rationally. We are not trading a multiple time all star to make room for a rookie who has had one good month. If anything Norman has played his way into a trade as a young valuable cap friendly piece to throw into a deal. We can't have a roster full of guys with little NBA experience, right now we have Norman, Wright, Bruno, And Lucas, if we add 2 more rookies this off season we our bench will be unproven.Twitter @WJ_FINDLAY

Powell and Wright are keepers. Cojo has more flaws and Ross is lazy or something. You want to upgrade the starting unit this offseason, those are the guys you move and you have two perfectly capable backups from last years draft. Keep Patterson.

We can't just get rid of guys like Cory Joseph right now, even with Murray. Yes, if we get Murray, you gotta think he's the future.
Right now the Raptors are thinking deep playoff runs. Guys who have been there, who have been around champions, who have seen how they prepare, behave, react, etc - that's at a premium. CoJo does struggle a bit, but there's a fair bit of experience and professionalism he brings that's incalculable.

Only way Murray is a Raptors is if both the Denver pick and the NY pick win the lottery (ie, one team moves to 1 or 2, and the other team moves to 2 or 3). Murray is a top 5 pick for sure.
If this happened, and the Raptors do end up drafting Murray. Then he'll be taking Wright's spot, who will be trade ballast this summer when we try to upgrade the starting PF spot.

Joseph is a guy you keep for his knowledge and experience, easily.
Norman's looked good, but it's still early in his career. I will say it has made not signing DD an option depending on who else Masai is targeting in FA. For example, say we decided to throw a max at Horford and not sign DD.

Powell
Carroll
Horford

CoJo
Ross

That's not awful, and who knows who else we could sign?Axel wrote:Now Cody can stop posting about this guy and we have a poster to blame if anything goes wrong!!KeonClark wrote:We won't hear back from him. If we are eliminated in the first round either by the Pacers or the Pistons, I say we need to package DD + Wright to the Lakers for Randle and Nick Young + multiple draft picks, we draft Demetrius Jackson and Brice Johnson, then next year we have.
Lowry/Joseph/
Powell/NYoung/D.Jackson
Carroll/Ross/Bruno
Randle/2Pat/Brice
Val/Biyombo/Nogueira

If we somehow got Murray, CoJo is gone, the minutes have to come from somewhere and Murray plays the same exact role at combo guard, but he's just way way better than CoJo, which was obvious to see when they played together for Team Canada.

While the same age, Wright is signed for $6M per year less and an extra year, all of that matters.
Wright has shown he is good enough to be the backup PG, so he's made CoJo expendable. This doesn't mean CoJo isn't good, or even better than Wright, just that we're in an excellent position to trade CoJo for something we need more.
CoJo would be a key piece to bring something we need more back. CoJo + Ross is enough salary to get pretty much any player we want ($17.4M combined * 125% = $21.75M).
Wright and Powell should be able to fill the roles CoJo and Ross filled, so we don't lose anything on the bench squad, but we now have $21.75M to bring back a starting PF in trade.
