  • The "Panama Papers" Data Leak - Largest in Journalistic History

    http://panamapapers.sueddeutsche.de/...b8d3c3495adf4/

So 2.6 terabytes of data was leaked to German Newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, a highly respected Newspaper due to their top notch research team, apparently lifting the veil on what has to be the largest corruption scandal ever uncovered.

Unfortunately the 2.6 terabytes is way too much for them, so they've established one of the largest Journalistic cooperatives in history, having over 400 journalists, from 100 Media corporations, representing 80 different countries sift through this massive dump (and they've been at it for a YEAR already.)

So basically what happened, is theres this company called Mossack Fonseca, and they're in big trouble...
They've been making over 214,000 shell-companies to assist in hiding assets for the elite of the world .. we're talking High Ranking Politicians (Iceland Prime Minister being the big story so far, as well as Putin, and several other PMs), Sports Stars (Lionel Messi), Celebrities apparently, while also uncovering documentation on business from some of the worlds largest Mafias and Weapons Dealers.. this is MASSSSSSIVE and we will be hearing about this for a VERY long time to come .. hopefully that large of a journalistic contingent, there will be NO stamping this out either.

Massive, massive leak. Icelandic government though... Interesting. I wonder how they act on this, they are the only country which sent bankers to jail.

Lol Seriously though. Besides the sheer mass of it all, I'm sure that was a factor in engaging with SO many Journalists and Countries and Experts.

Not yet, but all you need to do is take a look at CNN homepage to find your answers CNN are being way too quiet about this..

I'm guessing they are maybe saving that list for its own release. They have the next 14 weeks of stories planned apparently. There's ALOT to report and they say some of these deserve their own week of discussion. Can promise you there are PLENTY. Perhaps even Clintons or Trumps?

Toronto Star and CBC Radio are the only 2 Canadian Media that have access to the papers, and the Star is reporting that over 350 Canadians have been found in the Documents, and costing Canada around $8 Billion in Taxes each year.
