He's a worker just like demar. I read an article, they had to tell him to work less, the body needs recovery time.

I'm already excited to see year 2 OG
He'll be 2 OG for everyone

    Look out NBA
    OG is our king

    • Also his minutes steadily go up:
      October - 17.6
      November - 19.3
      December - 24.1
      January - 24.4

Being tasked with guarding LeBron/KD/Simmons last 3 games isn't exactly leisure activity either. There are still 14 games before All-Star break, but that week off should invigorate him. Unless he gets selected for Rising Stars game, which with current format (World vs USA) seems possible.
      10 Spots:
Embiid (yup - he is technically a Sophomore)
      Hield
      Murray
      Sabonis
      Saric
      Markannen
      Simmons

So 7 spots seems locked and after that there is a lot of candidates with similar case like our triple headed young front-court: OG, Pascal, Poeltl maybe even FVV and young bench guys from other teams like Skal, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, Dillon Brooks, Ntilikina.

      • Another (more realistic?) comparison has I don't think has been mentioned popped up watching the Cavs yesterday - Jeff Green. Green has struggled to find a stable home, and came in more polished, but he has the same kind of size at the 3-spot, defensive acumen, shooting ability, and inability to do much off the dribble.

I do think that there's something different, special, about OG's athleticism, that gives him even more potential as defender. Just a thought.

Not sure I agree on Green's D. OG has special tools and instincts, and his IQ is well beyond what you usually see for players his age. OG has legit potential to be one of the better defensive players in the league. Not sure anyone ever said the same about Green.

I think that was the hope for him when he was drafted so high. And I think I paid lip-service to the difference in potential - saying he has a different kind of athleticism, which we'll hopefully see more and more of as he gets closer 100% (and NBA-conditioned).

Don't think so in terms of D. He was a "jack of all trades, master of none" tweener forward. There were legit concerns on how he'd fit in on both ends, but enough confidence that his all around game would make him a keeper.

Maybe you're right, I thought I remember him being touted as Shane Battier-like specialist, but maybe I'm misremembering. Either way, not the worst comparison I think based on body type, play style, etc.

He should rest the next 2 games before the All-Star break.

Miami & Bulls will be a good test for Norm to get back on track.

                    • Let’s hope this guy can regain his early season form. If he shoots the way he did earlier in the playoffs it makes us a very very dangerous team to any team in the league.

If it was the rookie wall and minor nicks and strains holding him back, the past week off should do wonders. He must be aware that the team is on pace for a record year and also the most likely choice to finish the East in the #1 spot. That should be motivation for him.

                        • Can't wait to see OG back on the court and well-rested.

Well, the D was there. I barely remember him getting a pass. Mind you I had to PVR the game and wound up scrolling through a lot of the bad parts.

                            • Now that JV can step out for 3's, Raps should think about mixing in a few OG/Lowry pick & rolls as first options to put pressure on the rim, using OG like Biz until he gets confidence in his 3 back. That could help to collapse the defense and really open things up for everybody else. OG was a spectacular finisher in college and we haven't even scratched the surface on using him as a cutter.

It's an interesting idea since OG is usually where opposing teams hide their worst defender. That's where Terry would have been in the clutch last night for example. And OG is a decent passer, so if he ends up in a 4 on 3 from an outlet pass he should be able to find a shooter.
