Still can't believe he fell to 20th with his skill, attributes and background/character check...
Another W for Masai
Raptors took a gamble which payed off as OG shook those perceptions off him. Still Raptors would have probably ended up with Kuzma or Hart (if OG was off the board) knowing Masai this draft would have still been solid.

No look steals. It's a Raptor thing.

Man, the universe is sometimes chilling and incredible at the same time. This article was written less than 2 yrs ago, and when you read it now, knowing what we know today, it's a trip.
https://www.btpowerhouse.com/2017/5/...hi-leonard-2-0
By then, people had:
--No idea which team would draft OG
--No idea that Kawhi would ever leave the Spurs, let alone to which team
--No anticipation whatsoever that the two would ever play together one day
--And finally - considering OG's predicted draft position, the Raps pick#, as well Kawhi's role/importance in the Spurs at the time- absolutely zero idea, in the wildest of predictions, that they would not only play for the same team, but that team would be the Toronto Raptors.
Damn.

Conversations with Anunoby don’t last very long, and it’s not hard to guess who his favorite NBA player is. OG models his game after Kawhi Leonard, on and off the court. Like Leonard, Anunoby doesn’t get too up or too down when he’s playing, keeping his expression blank and treating a show-stopping dunk as if it was as routine as a layup off the glass. He’s a cult figure without a cult of personality. His athleticism does all the talking for him. While most great players are endlessly compared to up-and-coming college prospects, almost no one in recent years has been given the Leonard comparison. Few players have his combination of size, speed, and strength, and even fewer have the chance to match his meteoric rise from obscurity to superstardom.

Lost in the hoopla of siakams leap is anunobys wonderful progress. After a slow start hes averaging 15.25 in his last 4 games on efficient shooting. Lots of clutch steals and battling massive humans for rebounds.
I'm pleased with the early showing on year 29 time first team all-RR, First Ballot Hall of Forum
