It's time.
It's time.
Love this guy. Great defensively, solid offensively, really mobile and has an awesome attitude.

Hm I could've sworn we already had an everything thread for Poetl?
Past time. Time to roll Jacob. Make us believers.
pretty sure this thread exists some where
Pascal and yak has a combined thread.
He's going to shine as a sophomore, though minutes will be hard to come by at first. I tend to think Casey will play to our bigman strength while we still have it - keeping one of JP and JV on the court for 40-42 minutes of the game - but that only leaves about 12 minutes for the big Austrian. That's enough for now, but only just.
I think he's a winning, plus-player sooner rather than later.
Along with overall strength and toughness, I hope he can make strides on his shot-contests. Sometimes he's just getting a hand up there, where he should have the mobility and length to be a presence.
Probably hard to be aggressive when you're getting the worst rookie-calls ever.

Like the thread. Like the purtle. Have high hopes for his 2nd year.
I know everybodys tried different player comps for him. I dunno if we've had this one, but a poor man's vlade divac is my hopes for his career.

I think his jersey would look cooler if they spelled his name properly
'Jakob Pöltl'
reminds me of 'Mesut Özil'
There is a highlight that I have been looking for. I have searched for the longest time.
Jakob kicked out to someone for a buzzer beater I think. He rolled down hard and it was a no look pass. Does anyone remember this?
Here's a list of his assists if you want to peruse the highlights/boxscores. The CHA/Carroll one is in there.

Really think he'd be a better fit at center with the starting 5 than JV. Better defensively, better passer. The bench could use JV's offense more.
I kind of tend to agree, Poeltl gets the first 6 minutes of each half and spot minutes later, makes it easier to keep it to MOSTLY a 3 man rotation in the front court with some small ball (though you know that Siakam will find his way in)...especially because I'd rather have Powell start, making JV's bench offense even more important. I suspect our bench is going to have some games with serious growing pains this season. Need a veteran to go to for buckets.

Call me crazy but offensively he's like a young Marc Gasol. I'm very excited for him
