Ujiri told DeRozan he could be Toronto's Kobe -- a lifetime player who defines a franchise and, maybe, brings it championship glory. But to get there -- to push this live-wire Toronto team to its full potential -- DeRozan had to start shooting more 3-pointers.
Change was the goal when the Raptors hired Nick Nurse, an offensive guru from the (then) D-League, in the summer of 2013. Nurse came in for an interview, and on an office whiteboard drew the offense he envisioned: different starting points, reads, passes, options. "The framework of what we are doing now," Nurse says, "was up on that board."

Dwane Casey, the team's head coach, liked Nurse's ideas. For various reasons, they never made it onto the court for long. Perhaps no one felt enough urgency until Cleveland swept them and Ujiri spoke out.
        Masai is awesome.

We ordinary fans, we become so passionate that sometimes our emotions get the best of us, why we stayed us fans. Even some GMs are drawn And sucked in to this dark abyss. But Ujiri didn’t do a very common knee jerk reaction, he stayed patient.

Hopefully Casey, Lowry and Derozan will “fully” reward him this post season.

          Go Raptors !

                    • Watching NbaTV today and wow Kristin Ledlow is a bit of a dunce. She went on this big monologue about how no one in the NBA or around the NBA actually thinks the raptors have a realistic shot of coming out of the east and then laughed and looked at the camera as she said "except for raptors fans". She then went on to say a more realistic expectation is to make it to the conference finals and continue to get playoff experience because this is still Lebron's conference. Dumb broad doesnt even realize the cavs are in 4th in the east and if the season ended today we'd have beaten lebron if we made it to the eastern conference finals. That is if they dont lose in the first round.

                      • Pacers scrape out a win in Philly, they're now 1 game up on Cleveland (Cavs have two games in hand)

Philly is now 1 game up on the 8 seed

The banged-up Cavs get some respite tonight with the Suns...they win it as they try to keep pace with Indiana. The Wizards and Sixers have both hit a bump in the road, leaving the door open for either Milwaukee or Miami to try and make a run for the 5th spot

                            • Three games on tap tonight in the east race....

The whizzers travel to TD Garden which is now doubling as a hospital ward for the Celtics. After losing one at home to the surging Pacers have to see the Whiz getting back on track with a win over the depleted Chowderheads. Usually have a bit of sympathy for teams battling injuries but not for Danny’s crew. Spit on it and run a lap.

The Bucks who are somehow in 7th ......much to their surprise as well as the leagues ...travel to,Orlando to take on the tanking Magic. Expect both teams get their desired outcomes.

The Heat play in Sacto on their western road trip. The Heat got extinguished by the Blazers Monday night. Expecting a Heat bounce back to keep pace with the Bucks but Sacto will play harder than will the Magic. This one is the only upset possibility on tonight’s card.
There's no such thing as a 2nd round bust.

Go Bucks, Go Wiz. If we can't keep Cavs in 3rd then, even better, lets knock em into 6/7

I love how we're so far ahead that we can cheer for these east teams at will. It just doesn't affect us.
