  • Miles ahead - "pure" shooting on the Raptors wing

We've had our issues in this department, but is CJ Miles the best "pure" shooter we've ever had?

Best pure shooter? Dell curry. Best/most impactful shooter in game? Terrence ross.

Gotta see miles actually play a few monthe before he passes t ross.

But yeah in just a stand and shoot, I've got curry and kapono ahead of miles. He's nice though don't get me wrong

I might remind people that Curry is not among our 3-point percentage or makes leaders, just sayin'.

I might also argue that dribble-escape moves have become part of (what I personally consider) "pure" shooting. Why would pure shooting simply mean stationary shooting?

For a shooting guard, he barely took enough shots.

Miami Kapono yes. Toronto Kapono didn't shoot.

Yeah, great stroke but AP was a very purposeful shooter.

Had an amazing percentage, really didn't have those dribble escape moves to get him those free looks, on that team at least.

See but what are we ranking here? Who is the best shooter, best in game shooter or best shooting stats while as a raptor? 3 different to 3 different questions imo

I don't know the "shooter" criteria but the best guy combined across 2P%, 3P%, and FT% would be Calderon. He's top guard for TS%.

If anyone whose played in a Raptors jersey qualifies & it's them in their prime, it would be Peja Stojakovic even though he had 2 games with us. But if not, I say Kapono.

Peja was nice, but he really shouldn't qualify...because of that side-headed sling

Terrence Ross wouldn't even make my top 5 of most impactful. Of the guys who made 100 threes for our team he is 15th in percentage because he was so inconsistent. Of the guys who made 250 he's 7th.

Part of "pure shooting" is form and how every shot looks like it's going in... TRoss had some of the most inconsistent and weird form I've ever seen from a so-called shooter. Some games he'd get hot but you never had any idea if his shot was going in.

For pure shooting I'd say Kapono, Parker, Marshall, Curry, and either Vince or Jose. I'd include Novak if he'd made more threes for us (he only made 52).

If anyone is curious, here's the list of guys with 100 makes ranked by %.

For reference, CJ Miles is a career 36.1% three-point shooter and shot 41.3% last year.
