Tax bill is determined at the end of the year, and Lowry reportedly has some incentives this year, with some portion of them tied to all star appearance, all-NBA appearance, etc. Details are fuzzy. But yes, Lowry missing incentives can help the Raps gain some wiggle room below the tax line.

Well then, f*ck the All-Star Game. I'm voting for Denzel Valentine, Aaron Baynes, the shittier Morris twin, Lavar Ball and Bebe.

So do the savings just go to MLSE's pocket or can Masai actually do something with that bit of money?
If we knew half as much about coaching an NBA team as we think, we"d know twice as much as we do.

The savings will allow MLSE to reduce ticket prices by 5% next year.

                hahahahahahahahahaha

Well, it depends on what you mean by being able to do something with it. They can spend now, technically, it will just definitely put them into the tax. If they get closer to the end of the year, they can probably afford a rest-of-season minimum contract for a vet role player who gets waived by March 1st (cough, Vince, cough) without going into the tax - IF Lowry is going to miss his incentives (or enough of them). But if Lowry earns all his incentives, the Raptors are going to be in the tax regardless.

So... it's complicated. Long story short, Lowry missing incentives doesn't do anything for the Raptors in terms of what they can technically do under the hard cap, for example, but does change the tax picture a bit, and may open up the possibility of adding help down the home stretch of the season.

I think it's clear the DD will be there but management should quietly be doing everything in it's power to make sure Kyle stays home ....maybe then he'll stop hugging all the opposition players so much

The leading vote-getter in each conference will choose the All-Star rosters of both teams. How does that work? So it doesn't matter if DeRozan finishes 4th or 5th in voting, it's up to in this case Giannis, if he's on the team or not?
