Time to claim the top seed and have absolutely nobody talk about it.

        Game day!

Going to have a tough time watching games after tonight, as I'm traveling on business for a week to the states, and hotel room wifi is not the most reliable for streaming.

If they get to the top of the heap.... and I have every confidence they will.... it will be interesting to watch how the first place overall team is still a darkhorse to win the east ....

Just did quick research: Only twice in the 17 years of this millenium has the Eastern Conference 1st seed not been in the ECF- and once was the Derrick Rose/Noah injury to the Bulls in round 1. So we're certainly helping our chances to do so

It could still be argued (especially now with the Cavs cratering and the Celts looking more human) that there are any number of lower teams that could get hot for a series and take out any of the others.

If they finish Boston, Toronto, Celveland in any order, who couldn't see Philly or Milwaukee having a chance at taking one of them out? More likely, Miami or Indiana, maybe Washington.

To get through the Cavs or Celts, you may have to survive a series you're supposed to win and there will be a first round upset of some sort imo

538 only looks at stats and they have us at 42% chance to make finals, twice that of Boston or Cleveland.Beating GS at just over 10%, assuming Golden State gets in.

Atlanta Hawks won 60 games, 7 games better than the 2nd place Cavs in 2015..and got absolutely throttled in 4 straight.

No matter what happens (other than a Lebron injury) we are the darkhorse, and rightly so.

If the raps ever make the finals, all anyone is going to be talking about is how bad the east is and not how good the raps are. This team will never get any credit from the US. Ever. Its like they all have some sort of fear that praising the raps is unpatriotic or something. Or they just resent the fact that the league is not all amerian like tge NFL. Its kind of sad when u think about how insecure they are down there.

Yup.. and just like Boston was last year. Until Lebron loses in the East once or moves out West, he will always be favoured to get to the finals again.

The espn talking head show that week:

                          -lebrons streak ends
-is the worst east finalist in history?
-does anybody care about the nba finals?
                          -what will lebron do next?
-the west finals was the real final

Really the only thing that they could never take away, that would Make a permanent stain in their precious history books, is an nba championship

American networks would probably the ones most upset lol. After the huge ratings for Warriors-Cavs I,II,III, Warriors-Raptors would probably cause them to crash back down (in the US).

They'd probably spend the entire Finals talking about LeBron and his free agency

Nice to dream about, but 538 is notoriously way off in predictions. Until they have a some way of statically measuring player effort and commitment on defense, then I'm still in the camp that Lebron and veteran Cavs can flip-the-switch come playoff time.
