    5. Milwaukee
    6. Philly
    7. Miami
    8. Indiana

    I'm at +4, if I understand the scoring correctly (and if I don't suck at really basic math this morning... corrected to +6)
    -8 for playoff teams, then
    +1 for Cleveland
    +4 for Washington
    +2 for Milwaukee
    +3 for Philly
    +3 for Indiana
    +1 for Miami

      Milwaukee was a +2 (7th instead of 5th). Also add +1 for Miami who is in 6th instead of 7.. so overall a +6.

      Still a pretty good score though in my opinion.

        8. Pistons

        I've been waiting all year for the Pistons to turn a corner, hard to see them passing Miami but I'll take a flier on them.

        The Bucks and Pacers are playing well again. Washington had a strong stretch with Wall out, which is a bad sign. Sixers are going to finish strong.
        Edit: +6

        That last sentence, lol. Sixers went 23-5 after writing that. Also always expected the talent in Detroit to win out and the lower talent Heat to taper off, that never happened.

          That's right, no Philly
          6ers still suck....

            I'm seeing a flaw in the scoring here. The current high score would be if someone managed to pick no correct teams at all.
            Yeah, picking playoff teams needs to be something like a -2 instead of -1.

              Raps over Indy in 5
              Chowders over Pistons in 6
              Bucks over Philly in 6
              Whiz over the Cavs in 7

              Raps over the Whiz in 6
              Chowders over the Bucks in 7

              Raps vs Chowders.... Raps in 6
              -7.. Love of the Pistons and Dads Hometown
              0 Raps
              0 Chowderheads
              +4Bucks
              0 Cavs
              +3 Whiz
              +3 Philly
              +3 Indy

              so plus 7 if I followed the variance algorithm correctly.

                This is almost certainly wrong, but I'll get it in under the wire anyway. Also: fifth through eighth (or fourth through eight, if you're not as sold on the Bucks as I am) are really tough to pick this year.

                1. Raptors
                2. Cavs
                3. Celtics
                4. Milwaukee
                5. Philly
                6. Miami
                7. Indiana
                8. Washington
                1. Raptors [-1 (net)]
                2. Cavs [-1 +2 -> +1]
                3. Celtics [-1 +1 -> 0]
                4. Milwaukee [-1 +3 -> +2]
                5. Philly [-1 +2 -> +1]
                6. Miami [-1 (net)]
                7. Indiana [-1 +2 -> +1]
                8. Washington [-1 (net)]

                -1 + 1 + 0 + 2 + 1 - 1 + 1 - 1 = 2 if I haven't messed this up somewhere.

                (Edited to correct the addition (used -8 + differences to check), and to note that a net score of 2 is currently the lowest.)

                    Beyond 1/2; this was deceptively hard.
                    Damn, I predicted the right teams but underestimated the movements.

                    If I got this right, I'm at 6.

                    -8 for correct teams, +1 for Cavs, +3 for Bucks, +3 for Wizards, +4 for 76ers and +3 for Pacers.
