    IF he plays.
This is big dollars we are talking about, very doubtful that he wont unless he is physically unable to due to a true injury that is medically diagnosed

He has no choice. He'll violate CBA if he refuses to play even though he played for US basketball. Let's not go crazy
I think it's more about does he give a strong effort in Toronto because he doesn't want to play anywhere but LA and he knows he's going there next year for a lot of money no matter what.

Cris Carter said that Kawhi heard about this the first time this morning. They found out like we did.
Then Spurs gave up then, they took what Ujiri’s offer that they initially rescinded.

Prior to that Ujiri already may have read the writing on the wall that Spurs wont relent so why he spoke to Derozan that he is not being traded.

A lot could have happened in between

The Spurs trade demands to the Lakers:
            • Two 1st round picks
            • Two 1st round pick swaps
            • Ingram
            • Kuzma

What they got from the Raptors:
            • DeRozan
            • Poeltl
            • 1st round pick(top 20 protected)
Zach fucking Lowe gave up more in his speculative trade offer than Masai. like holy shit.

50 million is a lot of money to lose with a shorter contract.

Though the LA glamor playing alongside the best player in the world and multiple endorsements can cover up the difference.

But still losing 50 million is no joke

DanH. You were right. I'm stunned.

Love this trade, if its as reported, we keep Lowry, JV, OG, Siakam and Wright.

                Unbelievable.
Is Dan H MU? Dan H is dark right as trade goes down.....we need to hear from you Dan H.

Depending on how things go next July the trade might be:

                    DeRozan
                    Poeltl
                    1st Round Pick(top 20 protected)

                    for

                    Nothing

This next season will be one of the most eventful in Raptors history. It might be notorious though, we'll see.

I meant a sign and trade... JV and another piece
No, if you get a player in a sign-and-trade you're hard-capped at the tax apron (slightly above the luxury tax threshold). Raptors are already over that apron, so they'd need to shed a significant salary before they could even complete a sign-and-trade.

But does he want to play for the Raps?
If he doesn't report to the team he doesn't get paid anything, gets fined, and won't become a free agent at the end of the season, so he wont be able to go to LA.

Kawhi will show up and ball out, he doesn't have any ill will towards Toronto, he just wants to live in LA year round, Carter said he isn't even interested in playing for a super team or chasing another title, literally just wants to live in LA because that's where he's comfortable. If he gives us full effort for a season I'll help pay for his plane ticket to LA.

Leonard seems eccentric. We can't assume he thinks like most people. He hasn't shown that yet.

                          • Just curious what people think. How do you think this will affect the Raptors image to free agents? A lot of NBA stars not very happy with how we snaked DeMar even tho it's just business!

Nowhere near close to how Boston dealt with IT
Only one thing matters: We The Champs.

True. Boston dealt his ass even tho he gave his soul to Boston and played his heart out when his sister passed away.
