  • If you can't play D, you better be able to shoot 3s. Thats how the saying goes anyways.

    • If we are going for Hammon, we should just rebuild. Let her teach the new generation of players.

Some deals that would need to follow:
Ship Demar to the Lakers for Ingram and Deng's lousy contract.
Trade Lowry to the 76ers for Fultz (possibly take Robert Covington's shit contract).
Trade JV and Ibaka for anything.

Everyone wins - Demar/Lowry will have a chance to be on the same team as Lebron so they can stop their damn bellyaching in the playoffs about how he's a god.

Good points although that Lowry trade isn't happening imo and Covington doesn't have a shit contract.

They gave him a contract too soon.

          2017/18 $16,698,103
          2018/19 $10,464,092
          2019/20 $11,301,219
          2020/21 $12,138,345
          2021/22 $12,975,471

He didn't show up in the playoffs, although we pay someone double that and he also doesn't show up.

That isn't even starter money in the new cap environment. And he's a great 3+D player.

From 2018-2022 we're basically paying fucking powell that amount

Nah, it's a big overpay. Thank you BC. Been following RoCo for years and he's not "great".... he's ok. Super streaky 3-pt shooter, much like Patterson, tbh. Didn't show up in the playoffs consistently and got yanked out of the starting lineup in the Boston series, when you'd think he'd be a pivotal player for them against Tatum and Brown.

              • I suppose it's too late to trade Casey for a pick? That's where the idea of "kicking Casey upstairs" and keeping him under contract would have been the perfect solution.

I don't know, Lowe is quite high on RoCo, has him on his all-defence team. He's certainly one of the better defenders in the league. On the streaky shooter note - can't we say that of almost all shooters. Klay for example is notoriously streaky.

                  • We need a new face of the franchise, it's time to say goodbye to the Lowry and DeRozan era.

                    1) Toronto package DeRozan and Malachi Richardson to Minnesota for Andrew Wiggins, Taj Gibson, and Cole Aldrich

                    2) Toronto package Kyle Lowry and CJ Miles for resigned JJ Redick, Jerryd Bayless, and Dario Saric

                    3) Toronto package Serge Ibaka and Norman Powell to Houston for Ryan Anderson and 2nd round pick

                    4) Toronto send Jakob Poeltl to Sixers for 2019 late 1st round pick and 2019 2nd round pick

                    5) Toronto draft Brandon McCoy (Sixers pick), Kosta Antetokoumpo with Rockets 2nd round pick, Rawle Alkins with Sixers 2nd round pick

                    6) Toronto resigns FVV to a 3 year deal, Raptors give Vince Carter a vet minimum deal if not, let him sign with the Warriors or the Cavs or Celtics so he can win a championship.

                    7) Roster
                    DWright/FVV/LBrown
                    JJ Redick/Vince/RAlkins
                    AWiggins/OG/RAnderson
                    DSaric/PSiakam/TjGibson
                    JV/BMcCoy/CAldrich
                    - Our franchise is set with Wiggins and Saric and Kostas if he develop his game like his brother but may see majority of his 1st and 2nd year in Raptors 905, we just need a starting caliber PG and we can find that in next year's FA or draft. Our bench is solid with Delon, OG, Siakam, and young prospects in Brandon McCoy and Rawle Alkins (who I believe is this year's Norman Powell but much better athleticism). We need to build around JV so we are not trading him, I believe Wiggins and Saric can make JV's game better and especially with a new coach who would play him more minutes than Casey. We have veterans in Redick, Bayless (who played for the Raptors back in the days but likely to be bought out), Taj Gibson, Ryan Anderson, and Vince if he comes along to help the young Raptors adjust to a new era of great basketballness, we might make to the playoff given if Wiggins is truly a cornerstone to build around with. We may not beat LeBron but I believe when LeBron retires, Andrew Wiggins will be the best SF in the East that is if he can surpass Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown of the Celtics, although I believe Wiggins can be a lot better.

Why Would Minnesota Do It - They are building a young franchise surround Karl Towns, they need a SG who can shoot and be that cornerstone of the franchise like New Kobe and Shaq and that's where DeMar comes to play, the Wolves have a perfect SG/SF/C in DeMar, Jimmy Butler and Towns to be that triple threat when playoff comes along with Teague plays the point or perhaps they can package him and Dieng for Kemba Walker or John Wall.

Why Would Philly Do It - They have tons of draft picks in this year's draft, it's almost not fair, they need a veteran PG who can guide the young Sixers pass the Celtics or the Cavs next year and enter Lowry with years of playoff experience beside his a local, he can lead the Sixers deep in the playoff and this put Markelle Fulz to his natural position at the shooting position. Although they loose Redick and Saric, but they can place them with their multiple draft picks. And yeah, we also give them Poeltl, a decent backup C for two of their picks and CJ Miles who can light the 3s as a backup to Covington, just sound fair enough.

Why Would Houston Do It - Ibaka need to return to the West and play with his former team of Thunder or former teammate, Harden beside the Rockets could use a guy in Ibaka who is entering his prime years as a center and this put Capela back to his natural position at the 4. They also acquire a young prospect in Norm who might find his stroke as a Rocket.

                          • Half those trades don't even work this summer financially. You probably did them in 2K where it's still using 2017-18 salary numbers.

                            • Also, the Raptors aren't tanking. If they were they may as well have kept Casey since he did a pretty good job of developing young players. Instead they canned him and are after a former Spurs assistant which apparently means they want to continue to be competitive.
