Sigh...they wouldn't. Because people care for the Leafs.

The broadcasters are not out to get us, they're giving the people what they want
So Canadians really would rather watch the Dodgers/Brewers game today over Kawhi vs the Celtics?

Does anyone here really care about the Dodgers or the Brewers?

      Game is on Sportsnet 1?!!

Imagine the reactions of hockey fans if they put a Leaf/Habs game on that channel?

Leafs average viewership numbers are almost better than the Raptors BEST viewership number ever, I'm pretty sure. Not sure why people are still surprised by this.

          Yes.
Then it's time to move the franchise to the States.

The Raps arguably have the 2nd best player in the NBA and they're facing a rival team and still people would rather watch the Dodgers and the Brewers?

Yes, a lot more Canadians would rather watch a baseball playoff game than ANY NBA game

That does not mean the Raptors don't have enough fans to support a franchise in the 5 million Torontonians and 35 million Canadians. Because they do. It just means its not popular per capita. It's far below baseball and football and light years behind hockey. It's basically reverse what hockey and basketball are in the USA.

            • I don't want to hear anymore how ESPN or any American media stations keeps disrespecting the Raptors. THIS country doesn't respect them anyway. So why would the US care?

              • What we thought would happen. Looks like Siakam is going to be a mainstay in the starting line-up.

By "things will be fluid, always changing, nothing is set"

Nurse actually meant "jv only plays against other lugs"

And treat the Centre Position like the Goalie in Hockey basically. Between Serge and JV, they'll both probably split the starts right down the middle in terms of games. Suppose it makes sense in terms of keeping people happy, but also serving the teams needs.

WHy wouldn't he be? he's their 3rd best player.

                      • Let’s not be negative and just hope that Serge can play well. We have no control over it.

It also has to do with demographic. The Raptors have a younger demographic that would be less likely to have traditional cable. So which channel it's on, has less of a significance to the demographic watching it.

My issue is whatever Sportsnet channel it's on, has Leo on it. I've been a Raptors fan since the beginning, and this dude has been making my ear drums bleed since day one.

On the flip side, you're paying like 37 million for 1 position and keeping a minutes cap on 2 pretty good players

                              • I'm actually shocked that OG didn't get the start over Siakam.

                                Would've made sense to have Lowry/Irving, Green/Brown, Kawhi/Hayward, OG/Tatum, Ibaka/Horford.

It also makes sense that Siakam starts because there's a lack of playmaking if that were the lineup.
