This day needs a thread. I thought it was tomorrow but maybe it's starting up today. Raps are going to be all over the various ESPN airways. Likely timed to overlap with the Nelson Mandela celebration. Good synergy. Post anything you find here

Interesting read. Figured ESPN had just run out of teams and now it was Toronto's time but this is just the second time they've done this after doing Philly last year.

Yeah we're gonna lose tomorrow lol

Dont get me wrong this is great and all, but watch the ratings kind of suck after they do it. Also, when is Canada gonna do more features? Other than raptor tv channel on extendedcable package and 5 minute spots on the sports news. Pessimistic post, I know.

Sportsnet and TSN are still busy talking about the Nylander signing.

The funny thing about Nylander is, he's not even a top 50 player in the NHL. And yet Sportsnet and TSN talks about him like he's Wayne Gretzky. Smfh.

Because hes in Toronto. And all of Canada has to deal with their local news. It's fine for the jays and Raptors they are basically the national team, but most people west of Toronto aren't leafs fans.

After being mostly ignored for 4-5 years, ESPN and the NBA are grudgingly accepting the fact that this year's Raps have the best shot in the EC to make it to the Finals. Like any good storyline, they're taking the time to introduce some of the more interesting characters to the audience. Elite superstars (Kawhi) & rising stars (Pascal) are some of their favorite themes. DeMar & Kyle didn't qualify as either of those types. That's why Boston & Philly got so much hype heading into this year.

But still, we should still expect a lot of bad officiating and obstacles to be put in our way before we get there. On the other hand, notice how the Clippers are already starting to get the NBA seal of approval after just 1 decent month in a weak conference and no true superstar. They've won a bunch of very close games....... hmmm......

I'm digging all the attention the Raps are getting, and loving how we've essentially bolted out of the gates.

But part of me can't help but think that with each win, with each piece of praise, with each extra set of new eyes now watching this team, the pressure to (at the absolute least) reach the finals, might be too much.

There's a decent chance we secure home court advantage throughout the entire playoffs. Can you imagine if we lose a Game 1? This is where the poise of Green and Kawhi will hopefully make a difference.

Wonder when they chose the Raptors for this feature?

Raptors were the Charlotte Hornets of the NBA for a long, long, long time. Just nobody cared. Now a lot of people do. And it's only happening because of Masai and Tim.

Masai should be the first Raptor in the Hall of Fame.
