  • Denver crowded Kawhi but still managed to get 29 points. Tripled team most of the time. Malone had one goal before the game, let others score but Kawhi. Too bad OG struggled with his shots. I thought they also denied Danny with those corner threes. Nuggets coach took advantage of the Raptors injuries.

    Home cooking next.

    • Knowing what's going on with OG off the court I'll be patient with him. He's struggling but you can't give up on him. He did great things for us in playoffs last year.

      • Love that last line. Hopefully Nick’s efforts to wake the league up will help a bit, though. .... Squeaky wheel gets the grease. And in this league, it’s usually diva players bitching and moaning. Kawhi deserves to be respected by the refs.

        • Another guy who played absolutely horrific was Greg Monroe. Missing layups and free throws with his usual matador defense

There is a Huge difference with Pop as his biggest backer out in the court against the Refs and a new first NBA coach in Nurse
Doubt it. In the Spurs - Bulls game, DDR was fouled repeatedly and obviously with no calls. There was even one time, close to the basket, well within the restricted area, where he was hit with a full-body contact slam and knocked down - no call.

The FBI needs to take a look at the sources of income of some officials this season. I am not kidding.

Good for Nurse for putting it out there but shopping short of getting fined .... maybe. You can see in his body language that kawhi is getting frustrated with the non-calls too. He's being constantly double teamed and taking contact; could easily have been to the line 10X. LeWhiner would have been there 30X

                  • The injuries were a huge factor but the miserable shooting from three is pretty much a consistant trend, injuries or not. At one points the Nuggs went on a 23-2 run; that's unacceptable from an elite team. Celtics, 76ers and Bucks all starting to play well .... gotta start winning again at home

Agree completely. Letting McKinnie get away was unfortunate. In a few brief appearances last year you could see that he could shoot. CJ has had lots of chances now and his defence is usually just awful. But Norm should be better than Richardson and will be back any day.
Actually I think Miles defense this year is much improved. Saw it in this game with rebounds, tips and switching... at least that's my impression.

And as far as some posters have said regarding Miles being on the floor instead of Malachi, CJ is still shooting 30% for the year, so he has the opposing players attention. He was three for three for three (I think) last game, and has a reputation of being able to heat up. As noted above, this gives him a fair bit of gravity. His defenders rarely leave him.

                      • Honestly; the best part about losing games is seeing some of the hot takes afterwards. This was a game where I believe 5 to 6 players that are usually part of the rotation were out injured. If anything was a scheduled loss; it's this one. On to the next.

Also good on Nurse for calling refs out. It's weird who the refs reward and who they don't.

If they give Malachi a chance to play, i'm sure he would do better than Miles and OG. Look at what McKinnie is doing in GSW.

How many chances are these two scrubs( OG and Miles) going to get here?
                          What. Seriously. What.

Anyone who has watched Malachi Richardson play basketball and thinks that he would be an upgrade over even a broken CJ Miles is not someone who should be listened to. Never mind OG Anunoby. Are you kidding?

Miles needs to get back to what he does. Shoot the three. Nothing freaking else. He's putting up half as many threes as last year, playing only a few less minutes per game. Per-36, his three point attempts are down from 12 to 8. He's dropped from 75% of his shots coming from 3 to 65%. Catch. Shoot. That's it. And if he does that, there's a chance he'll find his rhythm and be a positive contributor.

OG is fine and will be fine. There's no reason to believe he's actually a 29% FT shooter. Meanwhile, his 30% shooting from three is bad, but it's on a <100 shot sample, so hardly reliable. And with him playing out of position and in such awful lineups, no surprise he's had a hard time finding a rhythm himself. Also, he is 21 and in his sophomore season. He will be fine.

Actually, the best part is reading some of the hot takes DURING the game. Some fans give up soooooo easily and just lose their sh*t

                            • Not sure why Nurse went with Miles over OG to start the game, because OG ended up with the starters later on. I think OG still works best as 5th wheel, low usage, corner 3, occasional cutter, defensive specialist like last year. Last night would have been a good opportunity to give him some run with better players and get in rhythm early and conserve energy for Kawhi having to guard PF.

OG also lost his Father just months ago. I'm sure he's not his self in general. The kid is a beast and will show it soon. We've seen flashes. It will come around.
