Internally, and as a human being you have your own timeline.

Professionally, you have to show up if you're showing up. So thats how long. People die.
Is OG not showing up? He's been out there. And playing pretty well lately, too.

Its really an odd case cause over the last year virtually all the rumors about Kawhi have been coming from random people who may or may not be well connected to Kawhi and he just focuses the whole time on basketball. I definitely believe the stuff that he wants to be close to his family, but anything else is unknown. At this point it seems pretty likely hes gone, but there is a lot of time left.

Eating Gallo's contract for them in exchange for Kawhi while getting Shai and that Heat 2021 pick would be an excellent rebuilding haul.

Yeah, but I don't think they include both just to eat Gallo's deal - especially since they are already lined up for two max slots, so that deal only helps them add another 20M guy. They can find someone to eat it for one asset, it's expiring next year. And probably just one of their own picks, not the Heat one.

Now, there's a slim possibility they manage to convince two OTHER stars to go into their cap space, and we could help them with a SnT where they salary match to bring in Kawhi. But that's a very long shot.

Disagree. Put Kawhi on the table right now for Shai, Gallo and the Heat 2021 1st and you get him. It's too much value for the Clippers to say no to.

    - Gallo offloaded so they can create two max slots
    - Get to wine and dine Kawhi for the rest of the season, also very likely make the playoffs and make a little noise (lose in rd 1)
    - Can now outbid every other team on Kawhi with his bird rights in addition to having the home team advantage
    - Easier to woo another star when you already have Kawhi in tow in Los Angeles.

For us it's great too. Still make the playoffs and probably lose in the 2nd maybe 3rd round. SGA gets added to the OG, Siakam long-term core, 3 guys who will all be starters on championship level teams with SGA/Siakam having all-star potential. Likely high pick in the first HS draft and Gallo fits with the 2 year window where we can start looking to offload his, Lowry's, Ibaka's and JV's expirings for value next season.

This is all presuming we can't make a move to bolster this roster to title contention level prior to 3PM. What I would do anyway.

Right now? 100%. They do it, of course. Gives them the inside edge in FA. The Raptors obviously wouldn't be so dumb as to bail on their chance at keeping Kawhi though.

The summer is entirely different. At that point, the Clippers would presumably have already won the Kawhi race in FA if the teams are even having the conversation, and have zero reason to give up so much when they can just ink him outright, and find a team to take Gallo for a couple of their own depreciated draft assets. The Raptors at that point would obviously be willing to do it, as they'd have lost the Kawhi race, but it would be too late then (though they could recoup some more mediocre assets from LA for taking back Gallo, possibly). Which is the risk Ujiri took in the summer, so c'est la vie.

I didn't say anything about the summer? We're not getting jackshit for him in the summer.

Just assumed because we've already established that there is literally no universe in which Masai would trade Kawhi today.

Well you should maybe think better and not make assumptions then.
