It's more just the canadian media, politics etc. Vancouver included the rest of the country gets sick of hearing about these 2 citys and how everything evolves around them. example "Snow storm put Toronto in choas". Sounds like a regular tuesday for the rest of the country. People in winnipeg experincing artic temperture are like big whoop lets hear some real national news not the first 10 minute block about some snow in T.O
Lol well we dont even like that. News is news they blow everything out of proportion. Its winter. It snows. Big deal ya. Its going up to a balmy 9 on sunday Ive heard it 100 times already this week on the radio. Itll probably go up to 6. A warm winter day ya it happens. Sounds like you watch CTV News which is shit its for old people either way southern ontario probably represents 25% of those viewers so itll be slanted a bit.
There is a certain segment of Toronto that suffers overwhelming insecurity masquerading as an insufferable preening self-importance. It's prevalent among a good segment of what I'd call the 'professional class' and, among that class, no one was worse than the sports media. Think guys like Cathal Kelly and Dave Feschuk.
I liked my time in Toronto (even though the financial district downtown inexplicably always smells like urine) but it does sit in a bit of a weird spot where it offers all of the inconveniences of a big city but not all of the benefits of a great city (London, NYC, Singapore, Hong Kong, Moscow, Paris, Tokyo, Sydney).
