Via reddit:
Scott Foster received 134 phone calls from Tim Donaghy between October 2006 and April 2007. He didn’t call any other official more than 13 times.
....
You also forgot to mention that each call to Foster was preceded and/or followed by calls to his bookies (within a few minutes of each other)...
The fact Scott Foster is even still reffing should tell you all you need to know about the NBA...
Oh and by the way, who always seems to be assigned to ref the most crucial and important games of the season (national TV games/Christmas games/game 7's/etc.)? But it's ok, the NBA assigns him because he's a "trusted veteran" and has great performance. Give me a fucking break. Does everyone have their head up their ass? How can people be so naive? Ignorance is bliss I guess.
Edit* Can you imagine the dirt Scott Foster has on the league, to still have a job lmao? League is run by fucking criminals as far as I'm concerned.9 time first team all-RR, First Ballot Hall of Forum

The Great One wrote: View PostThis forum was going nuts over Harden the last time the Raptors played the Rockets because Harden was selling EVERYTHING. And the refs in that game like in EVERY Rockets game were calling everything. Scott Foster last night didn't fall for it and now he's crooked. LOL smh.

DeMar maybe second greatest in terms of popularity, but Lowry is the greatest in terms of production and on-court impact, and it's not close. Though if Kawhi sicks around, hard to see him not easily surpassing everyone.
In terms of "face of the franchise" likeability tho, yeah Vince and DeMar #1 and #2,
Siakam tho. He's comin'

DeMar's pretty unique in that he came in after several seasons of pretty mediocre basketball, saw the position the franchise was in league-wide, saw the position the city was in league-wide, and he made a conscious decision to do everything he could to raise the profile of both the franchise and the city within the NBA. That's super, super unique and he should be loved forever for it in Toronto, even aside from all the on-court basketball stuff - where he also deserves all kinds of love as the all time leader in a whole bunch of categories."We're playing in a building." -- Kawhi Leonard

Issue with Foster specifically (and i imagine others) is that if they were involved in point shaving, swinging games, etc. then they definitely have some incriminating evidence on the league. No way the NBA was clueless, they likely let it go as long as it didnt affect ratings or boosted viewership (see game 6 of 2003 western conference championship). If the league ever gets a cut of betting revenue like they want, then any integrity they had is gone.

In recent years there has been more commitment to evaluating refs but its still largely fanbases saying, “remember when so and so fucked us out of that game in the last minute?”

"Our findings show tim donaghy did not fix any games" hahaha ok Vince McMahon.
Also silver has been at the forefront of the gambling thing. Its one of his main platforms and missions. The whole thing is fucking greasy. One of the big reasons its gone on this long is fans would rather deny and ignore it so we can keep watching our soap opera and believe the competition is 100% determined by the athletes
Fans are complicit. We would not enjoy taking down the nba. We want to believe. Frankly at this point if you think theres no rigging then you're basically the conspiracy theorist9 time first team all-RR, First Ballot Hall of Forum
