I think Houston wants to open up space to sign another FA, they don't want to take back more contracts. The best we can do is take an asset or two along with Lin. Which I think would be a good move. I doubt you get draft picks in this scenario.

Yeah, it keeps us a playoff team at least, with an extra asset at the 4 in Patterson/Johnson.

If this does happen, I hope Johnson's flipped for a decent 3.

I think raptors are better off signing Lowry to 12.5M~14M deal for 4 years then, or even 5 years if necessary
unless better S&T opportunities occur with other teams
But man... long term contract with Lowry is scary

That is the key. If this truly is the Raptors current stance, nothing says that it can't change. It could also give Ujiri additional negotiating power to not just agree right away.

If Lowry truly wants to go to Houston, I have no doubt that Masai will find a way to make them pay.
