white men can't jump wrote: View PostStill surprised they did that...
Sent from my HTC One using TapatalkThen, at the 4:55 mark of the video, someone asked, “Why couldn’t we draft Murray instead of you?”
Hield didn’t beat around the bush.
“Well... I’m a better player than Murray, you stop being crazy.
Just hope he's more loyal than Andrew "flake" Wiggins

Thought I would bump this thread to look at how the future of each position is looking after over half a season of ball has shown the progression and regression of some players.
Point Guard: CoJo has had a bit of a down year and Tyler Ennis is buried on the Houston bench. While both are still young, a position that I saw as a strength moving forward is now huge question mark for me. Some other point guards that showed some potential have either completely fallen off, Myck Kabongo, or have become a little stagnated, Kevin Pangos. Can Jamal Murray play some 1 in major international competition?
Shooting Guard: I think this is a position that will have great depth for Team Canada. Nik Stauskas has been a little up and down this year, but has shot the 3 well and has shown good passing instincts as well as a willingness to play defense. Murray has had a strong February, not being affected by the rookie wall. He provides the team with a player who can create his own shot and put pressure on opposing defenses. Could see time as a lead guard when needed. Add Brady Heslip into the mix as a specialist and this position is 3 deep, Andrew Wiggins could even see some time at the 2.
Small Forward: Andrew Wiggins still leaves us wanting more, but he has shown an improved 3 point shot and at times the ability tot take over a game. He turns 22 later this month. His back up will probably be young as well, looking at guys like Dillon Brooks and Justin Jackson from the NCAA, or a bit of a vet in Melvin Ejim who is shooting the ball well in Europe this year and brings a scrappyness the team. Stauskas could see a little time here as well depending on mat-ups.
Power Forward: With Thompson a center I will put Kelly Olynyk here as the main guy. He had a slow start to the NBA season, but has been playing very well in 2017, scoring the ball efficiently and showing improved rebounding. He is a floor spacing big who can pass the ball and score in the paint. Trey Lyles and Andrew Nicholson look to be fighting for the back-up position. Lyles has not shot the ball well in his second NBA season, but is getting consistent playing time, and that alone will help. Nicholson is stuck on the bench in Washington, no telling what he might bring this summer. Other players like Kyle Wiltjer and Anthony Bennett could find themselves on the roster.
Center: Tristan Thompson has the starting spot on lock. His shot blocking is up this year and he is trouble on the offensive glass. Brings toughness to the front line. As for a back up we could see the grizzled vet Joel Anthony, after that does Robert Sacre make a return?
There may be some past players like Rautins, English, Doornekamp, Birch and the Scrubbs that find their way on the roster as well.Twitter @WJ_FINDLAY

I see more and more of DeMar's offensive game in Wiggins which is actually a great thing because AW has better range and a lot more bounce and speed. Him and Murray so far will be leading the charge but Rowan Barrett Jr may be the real superstar in the future (well behind Zion lol I swear that kid is turning 28 this year, just unreal athleticism).
Murray
Barrett Jr
Wiggins
Lyles
Thompson
Really not that bad at all for a nation that's just starting to grow the game especially when majority seem to be from Ontario and when our entire country's population is less than California alone lol.

If DEN is smart he will become a starter and they will ship Mudiay for another top young player because this league is all about shooting. Jokic is basically the point C, so if they can just surround him with shooters which obv Murray is they could have an extremely bright future ahead I think they do see it because Murrays hype died down around the draft but they seem to be trying to include him more.

RJ Barrett coming along nicely....
NEW ORLEANS—A teenage Canadian basketball star copped a major honour here as part of the NBA’s all-star weekend.
R.J. Barrett, seen as one of the next wave of great Canadian players, was named the most valuable player at the league’s Basketball Without Borders global camp held over three days.
The 16-year-old son of long-time Canadian national team stalwart Rowan Barrett was chosen the best of 63 players at the camp, directed by Raptors president Masai Ujiri.
Barrett is a six-fooot-seven sophomore at Montverde Academy in Montverde, Fla., the same prep school attended by Ben Simmons, the top pick in last June’s draft.
