So coaches are all the same. Thank you for finally seeing the light
lol... how in the world do you draw that conclusion, when FIBA is proving exactly the opposite?

That coaching can sometimes have a greater impact than talent. And that NBA coaching success doesn't always transfer to FIBA success, unless the talent gap is massive.

    • Nobody coaches beating coaches from worlds best league. So much for NBA coaching

        • all this showed me is that you are only as good as your weakest link. Rebounding for US and shooting and quality of bigs for Canada. cOacHing mAtTers is lazy analysis and unproductive af when it comes to team building.

Nurse cut his teeth in the British Basketball League. Spo coached in Germany and was the video guy. Phil Jackson and Pop were also nobodies in the beginning. So yeah, it's possible that Herbert could be a better coach than Kerr and Spo.

Regardless, Herbert is clearly a better FIBA coach than either Kerr or Spo right now... at least as far as strategy and tactics. His recent track record of elevating clearly lesser talent to podium success this year and last year at Euro, speaks for itself.

That said, the way Herbert yelled at Schroeder and then forcefully grabbed him.... he wouldn't last a game in the NBA. That's Bobby Knight sh*t.

              • German team played together in last Euro Basket and know each other since Junior league. That's what Canada and USA don't have: continuity. They are just last minute put together team.

So, teams with more scrubs have less weak links than stacked teams? Ok. These takes are getting wilder by the minute.

So your new position is: "Talent doesn't matter". lol.

So Mo Wagner and Daniel Theis have more talent than talent-less JJJ and the rest of the USA? A 12-deep team, loaded with all-stars, all-defense and elite role players? Oh wait, Germany had Isaac Bonga off the bench. lmao.

You're sounding punch drunk now. Getting whiplash from your takes. lol.

Spain winning Euro with Lorenzo Brown as a last minute replacement for Rubio, pretty much destroys that continuity and familiarity myth. Even without Zo, that Spanish team was led by a new generation of young kids, with the Gasols, Rubio, etc... retiring.

If continuity is so important, then the Fred/OG/Siakam core should've been competing for championships the last few seasons.

The mental gymnastics to avoid the obvious conclusion is pretty entertaining, though.
