  • If this is a year to develop players or assess their value, I wish they play Flynn and Matt Thomas or even Watanabe...extend the bench and maximize development of these young players.

    Always a win, win situatuon

This is what Miami did to Boston in the playoffs. Nothing basic about their defense they are playing hard.
Lots of teams are beating the Heat this year. They’ve been hit by COVID and injuries. That’s not the same team as last year’s playoffs. Meanwhile, Raps came into this game on a roll with a full squad.

I think this game says more about us, than how good the Heat are right now.

A lot of people OVERREACTED after beating a bad Hornets team and a tired Dallas team who was also missing 3 key rotation players. This is a bad team folks. Tonight they got exposed by a hungry, well coached Heat team. Imagine if the Heat had Butler, Herro and Leonard? lol.

Raptors next 4 games will be: Heat, Pacers 2x, Bucks. I say they go 0-4.

Jalen Green or Cade Cunningham will fix this team

Under 40% shooting. Under 33% three point shooting. 49 threes. Way too easy to defend Raps attack. Beating a dead horse but I hate the offensive philosophy and approach this year. It is not Raptors basketball.
Our starting 5 has nobody who can generate any rim pressure whatsoever. How else are we supposed to play?

              • Pascal’s 3 pt shot has fallen off a cliff:

                2018-2019: 36.9%
                2019-2020: 35.9%

                This year he’s at 26.3%.

If he’s an all star or all nba player this team is in good shape. If he’s not..........

                  • Really think ya gotta give Matt Thomas a look against a zone when we’re having trouble scoring.

                    • We don't know how to attack a 3-2 zone. We simply don't. No screens, very limited flashing bigs in the middle. Looked like deer in the headlights for half the shot clock, then a brick going up or a turnover. Well deserved loss, hate to say it.

Was just gonna write that. We don't trust undrafted Matt Thomas, Heat trusts (and lives through his mistakes so he can develop) undrafted Kendrick Nunn. Easy money.

Gotta give Nurse some credit for the loss. He can see the offense isn't working but refuses to change tactics. Miami is making the Raps beat them with 3's but Nurse won't get his best shooter in the game.
Yep. What a lot of people overlook is the impact of players like Matt Thomas can have on OTHER teammates and on opposing collective defences. Nevermind he himself is shooting 53.8% from 3's, he doesn't actually need to put up a single shot on a given game, and he'll still demand individual coverage, creating cracks on a zone, which is precisely what we needed in this game.

Meanwhile undrafted Robinson and Nunn are playing with enormous balls for the Heat. Why? Minutes, and the security they'll have the chance to play through mistakes and get the rhythm shooters need.
