I feared it might look worse so I'm thankful & hopeful for that much at least, but you really hate to see it. Prayers up for Kyle. Hopefully he'll be able to quickly recover from that. Man deserves to have a great year.
It is the second time he has had a ankle issue this year .

Kyle Lowry limped to the locker room after Scary ankle injury in his First game 🙏 - YouTube

            • DeMar makes it on to the MVP ladder:

I think 5th might be the highest he’s ever been so big kudos. Would love to see him go even higher if the Bulls can step up on this tough stretch of the schedule.

To put this into context, he did what he's doing now for an entire season in Toronto, 2016-17. Even won 51 games despite Lowry missing 22.

That year, out 121 voters, he received 1 FIFTH place vote. Thanks Matt Devlin.

                • This kid would be nice to have right now. The ringers "10 players about to break out"...but I suppose I'm OK with the trade

                  Jakob Poeltl, San Antonio

No one would blame you if you didn’t watch San Antonio in recent years. The legends are gone. The playoff streak is over. The Spurs have built a solid foundation of young players like Dejounte Murray, Keldon Johnson, and Josh Primo, yet their future will likely be shaped by the players they draft in the years to come.

But while they’re waiting, the Spurs have managed to turn Jakob Poeltl into another core contributor. Acquired from Toronto as part of the Kawhi Leonard trade, Poeltl, 26, has gone from a good to great rim protector.

Poeltl doesn’t block many shots, but he deters a bunch of them because he’s always in the right position. Opponents shoot 10 percentage points worse than average when defended by Poeltl within 6 feet of the rim.

On offense, Poeltl is carrying a heavier load than before, logging 36 touches in the frontcourt per game, which leads the team and is up 14 from last season. Poeltl isn’t flashy, but he’s a strong interior finisher and a slick passer. San Antonio trusts him to make the right play, and he usually does. The Spurs may lack a star, but guys like Poeltl (who’ll miss some time because of NBA COVID health and safety protocols) give them a good group of supporting pieces.

It seems this is the second time he looked like he had a bad injury but next game has a great game .. Maybe he knows his body real good and knows when something happens to rush to dressing room to work on injury .

                        • DeMar up to 4th on the MVP ladder too. Almost no chance he wins with what Steph’s doing, but it’s nice to see.

                          • From The Athletic: "Valanciunas has become a dangerous 3-point threat within the Pelicans offense, and he showed why his early-season hot streak needs to be taken seriously in Friday’s 94-81 win over the LA Clippers.

He ended the night with career highs in 3s made (five) and 3s attempted (nine) en route to a 26-point, 13-rebound performance in which he looked like the most dominant offensive player on the floor. He did it while taking nearly half of his shots from beyond the arc.

“He’s an elite shooter based on his numbers this year,” said Pelicans coach Willie Green. “We want him to take more … JV’s more than capable.”

That’s not an exaggeration. Valanciunas has attempted 38 3-pointers in 17 games this season, and he’s shooting an NBA-best 55.3 percent. This year, no one else who’s attempted 30 or more 3s is shooting over 48 percent from deep.

The guy who only attempted four 3-pointers in his first five seasons has somehow turned into a deadeye shooter who doesn’t miss deep."
