I dont see any reason why they can't play together he meshes with an all star big perfectly in memphis. In today's nba there really isn't defined positions, they would just be two bigs. Gasol could just replace amir in free agency dont see an issue here...

Part of the harm is that they have to unload a lot of salary to make a good offer. Gasol will be making the max, and I think his starting salary will be around $21M.

Even if Amir/Lou/Chuck/Landry and Psycho all leave, we'll still have to make more room for him.

I personally wouldn't want to gut my roster for M. Gasol. He's a good player but not gut worthy.
