Easier said than done. If it was that easy to work out of a trap / pressure then nobody would do it, it would be pointless. But of course it isn't. And the first thing you do on defence when trying to pressure is to deny the primary ball handler.
Its why teams shredded Toronto. Everybody beat the trap and found the open shooter.

Holy shit dude. Are you saying the trap is useless? Are you saying it is alway easy to circumvent? If so please explain to me why any coach uses it, college or pro.

Traps only work against ISO heavy teams. Try trapping the Spurs or Warriors. Also Rasps traspped using GV and Lou or Lowry, short guards can't trap

That is not true. Many traps are started in the backcourt too (full court trap - most isos don't begin by an inbound pass under one's own hoop) can lead to 8 or 10 second violation depending on association, or a steal, deflection, ball in hands of a poor free throw shooter, or bad ball handler, thus increasing chances of turnovers against better defensive guards / further pressure / traps.

          • So Bargs spurned the Kings and signed with the Nets, for less money.

Pro tip: when Andrea Bargnani turns his nose up at your multi year offer, you have got some SERIOUS issues.

If Ross will be playing extended mins at 2 I hope to hell he is working on his handle all summer. He does not have nba guard level ball handling. He'll be an adventure bringing up the ball against pressure. JJ is actually the better ball handler of those two and it would make more sense him being the secondary ball handler given that bench lineup.
JJ would indeed be the secondary ball handler, just from the 3 spot. Don't see an issue.

He probably weighed staying in new york city vs moving to sacramento

Traps are like changeups somethings team use occasionally. Rely on them to much and pace increases as teams race to split or run out.

Traps are useless against good NBA teams. That's why there's so much less trapping than in college.
