and not a bad back up after what they were going for with mathews. probably cheaper due to the one year left until ufa and can come in and maybe get his career back on track.

does melo have a no-trade clause? because if not he has no say in where he plays unless he goes public and torpedoes the deal
I wonder what they would want. Nice backup if he's not fully ok, and best case scenario, if he's healthy, then he's as good as anyone on this team. He looked pretty well in the second half of the season. Nice fit for us too, I think. Some 4, some 3, a ton of shooting, a legit secondary playmaker.

But maybe they prefer to just keep him, it's not like Gallo would stop the tank by himself, and he's still pretty young.

    • What Rockets did is simply unbelievable ...

Now MU has to go after Farid ...

The Lawson trade is pretty much the ultimate buy-low. Rockets gave up players who aren't part of their rotation plus a protected first for a guy who could be their key to the Finals. They also got a second rounder.

Lawson rehab is going to be a high priority this offseason for them.
Nuggets didn't even try and get KJ McDaniels? Terrible. Hopefully this doesn't happen with DeMar

Only way to make salaries work would be ross, 2pat and JJ. Don't think id make that trade.

with 2pat it would just have to be one of Ross or JJ to be included for salaries to match.

I think just Ross and 2Pat would work salary wise. Throw in the LAC 2017 1st or our 2016 1st lotto protected. Faried is on a good value deal through 2018-19 so he could slide into the first big off the bench role later in his contract. Wouldn't offer more than that, just looking to buy low.

                      • Media reports were assuming that Denver was going to waive Lawson. Houston came up with a package that offers Denver expiring/non-guaranteed contracts that essentially does the same thing - gets Lawson off their books.

Removing Lawson is more like Charlotte trading Lance. He could have been a chemistry killer... it doesn't mean they will sell the farm. They did just resign Wilson Chandler for example.

and they are trying to extend Gallonari..but Faried is still a prime trade candidate and most likely next to be moved given the state of that relationship

Faried/Lawson both wanted out.. but they did just get a new coach and Faried may want to give it a shot to see what playing for Malone is like. I hope you're right.. Faried would be great on the Raptors.

Yeah but how bad will they suck? They were 7th worse last year but now have a better coach and removed a chemistry killer off their team. They are in a tough conference, but still get to play teams like Minny, Portland and Utah 4 times each.

In the West I don't think Portland or Minny end up with better records than Denver. In the East lots of teams could have worse records.. Denver also usually does well at home due to their thin air which gives them a significant advantage.
