Interesting story.. and of course had to be a Raptor. So does Jontay have a lot of pull in social media? I would gather these individual prop bets have ceilings.. like I doubt a bookmaker would allow a million dollar bet on a 3pt under? So did Jontay get like thousands of people to bet the under since he disclosed he was out or something? That shouldn't be hard to find on twitter/instagram/etc if that was the case.

I also heard they cleared his locker room. So maybe he is guilty and now he's done. Which sucks if true because he had so much potential. Ugh. The post chip era has been rough for the Raptors.

Jalen Harris becomes a coke head. Nick interviewing for a job with the 76ers while still employed with the Raptors. Knicks ex guy "stealing" information and the Knicks suing the Raptors. Koloko getting clots and having to retire. Scottie and Jak both with finger injuries requiring surgeries. RJ and his brother. IQ and his uncle.

This team needs some witch doctor to come in and cleanse the team or something.
Apparently Jontay has a discord channel where you pay him for betting picks. So yeah could have been a lot of smaller bettors all at once. They limit prop bets to a max of $1K I think, to try and prevent this kinda stuff.

So Porter tells a group of followers, on the record, to bet against him? Nobody can be that dumb.

If guilty, he won't likely ever play in the nba, not sure why he would take this risk.

if innocent, I hope he gets a fair shake.

He left one of those games due to an eye injury.. the other because he was sick.

He got poked in the eye against the Grizzlies. That game was on a Monday (Jan 22). He left the game against the Clippers in the 2nd quarter (Jan 26). That was on a Friday.

So there were 4 days there where he could have told his buddies that he's not going to play the entire Clippers game.

Wasn't one a poke in the eye in-game? Find the tape and see if he fakes it lol

Or ask the medical staff if he was really hurt.

Read other peoples posts folks. It wasn't the poke in the eye game.
If we knew half as much about coaching an NBA team as we think, we"d know twice as much as we do.

He had two betting incidents. One was against the Clippers (eye). And the other against the Kings (illness).

                              https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...betting-issues

In the game on Jan. 26 against the LA Clippers, there was increased betting interest on the under for Porter props, which for the night were set at around 5.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists. There was also an over/under for Porter's made 3-pointers, which was 0.5.

That evening, Porter played just four minutes before leaving the game because of what the Raptors said was an aggravation of an eye injury he had suffered four days earlier against the Memphis Grizzlies. Porter did not score against the Clippers but had three rebounds and one assist, and he did not attempt a 3, meaning the under hit on all of the props.

The next day, as part of a daily report to users on betting results, DraftKings Sportsbook stated that the under on Porter's 3-pointers was the biggest money winner for bettors of any NBA player props from games that evening.

He was not even wearing goggles that game which is common practice with players that suffered eye injuries.
