Knicks lose. The pick now stands at #10, but is essentially tied for #8.
Not sure where you get tied for 8th.. They are in 11th (technically tied for 10th with Orlando but has a better winning %).

This site is up to date:

Can even run a simulation. Haven't been able to get in the top 3 yet

    • Nice to see the front page of RR and see that pick number dropping. 14..13....10 (hopefully single digits here we come)

        • Denver is probably cementing themselves around 6-8 range. The question is the NYK pick. Hope Orlando, Milwaukee, Sacramento can help us out.

          • Looking at losses, Denver has 7th most and NY has 9th most. New Orleans seems to be turning things around, so I still see both teams winding up in the bottom 8 overall. Milwaukee is the team that needs to get things going, to drop Den/NY into the bottom 7 overall.

The bottom 5 seems set (LA, Philly, Brooklyn, Minnesota and Phoenix), as #5 is 5 losses clear of #6.

            • Lots of intriguing games tonight, though most are lopsided on paper:

              Charlotte VS Cleveland
              Detroit @ Boston
              Washington VS Golden State
              Orlando @ OKC
              New Orleans @ San Antonio
Denver @ Utah - double whammy game, so go Jazz!
              Sacramento VS Chicago

Philly, Minny and Brooklyn are also in action, but I think they're all destined for the bottom-5.

Outside of the filthy 5, hard to project final standings until after the trade deadline passes. Though if Phoenix recovers under Earl and NO has a firesale they could swap places (though NO actually had a winning January so who knows).

Just looking at the splits for only the bottom 5, in January Philly actually won the most games (and played the fewest) by going 4-10 - which is a 29% win percentage. The rest: Pho 14% - 2 wins, Min 13% - 2 wins, LA 18% - 3 wins, BR 19% - 3 wins. The bottom 4 could be a free for all - with many potential tanking manoeuvres. Won't affect the Raptors but thought it was interesting.

Praying for the Hornets...but its not a sound strategy.
Seeing the men from Motown beating Danny's heroes. All the speculative trade talk does have an affect on the players no matter how much they say it doesn't. That and Stan has put together a pretty good team.
The Whiz can and will lose this one then the schedule turns for them. No one gets hurt and it's a win.
Magic will keep it under 20 but OKC keeps rolling.
                  Scheduled loss for NO.
Utah does itself and us a favour in its playoff run by taking out Denver.
No DMC means the Bulls take one on the road. If he plays then the Kings can win this by taking away Gasol and watching the two alpha dogs (Butler and Rose) compete with each other for possessions to the detriment of the team. Hoiberg didn't sign up for this internal pissing match and doesn't have the chops to negate it. To paraphrase..whose team is it anyways ?

 Then again ..maybe praying has a place in the NBA. St. Jeremy Lin slays the infidel Lebron.

Seeing the men from Motown beating Danny's heroes. All the speculative trade talk does have an affect on the players no matter how much they say it doesn't. That and Stan has put together a pretty good team.
 Close at the end but whiffed on that prediction.

The Whiz can and will lose this one then the schedule turns for them. No one gets hurt and it's a win.
 11 made 3’s on 16 attempts. 51 points . The one man band gongs the Whiz in a track meet. UFB.

Magic will keep it under 20 but OKC keeps rolling.
 They kept it under 20. What a heartbreaker for Skiles kids. They had it and watched a redux of what we saw two years ago as KD killed them with a ridonkulous 3 at the buzzer.

                        Scheduled loss for NO.
 Another 9 to 5 type win for the Spurs. Clocked in ready to go and clocked out with a win.

Utah does itself and us a favour in its playoff run by taking out Denver.
 Utah does us the favour. Stat line shows the second coming of Kareem (Jokic ) coming back to earth with a rather pedestrian stat line of 8 points on 3 of 9 shooting.

No DMC means the Bulls take one on the road.  Unable to make free throws when it matters the Excremento Kings let one slip away late.
Pick still at 12.. but with a Knicks loss tomorrow it goes to 11...

                        • Utah (against Denver), Charlotte and Minnesota all helped the cause last night.

Nothing but key games on the schedule tonight:

NY @ Detroit - double whammy game... go Pistons!

Phoenix VS Houston - the Suns' turnaround starts tonight... maybe?

New Orleans VS LAL - a Pelicans win leaves Denver alone in 12th in the WC

Toronto @ Portland - a Portland win would technically be better for this thread... but go Raps!

However 4 assists (of the Nuggets 11 total), 2 steals, 0 turnovers in a tough matchup vs Gobert.
If we knew half as much about coaching an NBA team as we think, we"d know twice as much as we do.
