Literally every minute Salmons was on the court, Casey was effectively waving the white flag. Fields should have cracked the rotation two months earlier. If Fields plays in game 1 and doesn't post the incredibly efficient -9 in 13 minutes that Salmons managed, we win that game and the entire series is different.
Fields was the only guy on the team who could guard Joe Johnson for any length of time and he had to "earn" a spot in the rotation...

In any case, the point was also that he should have played every minute instead of Salmons, which means playing in game 1 at all, and playing more in game 2, and playing more in game 3, pre-injury. Right there is more than enough difference to win us the series.
