However the scouting reports before he was drafted said he was a poor defender. Not comparing Jokic to Draymond, but Green's scouting report prior to his draft also said his defence was poor.If we knew half as much about coaching an NBA team as we think, we"d know twice as much as we do.

Barolt wrote: View PostRight now, in the NBA, in net rating/48 minutes, there's ONE player in the top 15 who doesn't play for the Spurs or Warriors.
Terrence Ross at #5. CoJo is #16.
Some more background into what stat you're actually talking about would be nice.

NetRTG isn't a cumulative stat, so I don't understand how dividing it by say 24 minutes and then multiplying by 2 to adjust for 48 makes any sense whatsoever.

Net rating/48 is the way the stat is listed there, I'm not sure why they use net rating/48.
And on further examination, it's specifically Ross' numbers at SF that rank 5th, because that breakdown is by position. He has a +4.2 net rating when used at SG.twitter.com/anthonysmdoyle

Scraptor wrote: View PostReally dislike McDonough, he epitomizes GM'ing without a long term strategy or vision, but it's too early to call out his drafting. Still think Len could be very good. Warren has shown flashes. Nonlotto picks are always a crapshoot... You could make the same criticisms about Bruno and DWright.
Ainge is trying to reprise the Pierce & Garnett coup but does lightning strike twice on the same franchise... especially? He has to wait a few more years before he can get a Garnett & Ray Allen who had to be let go with still some years left of good contribution. Ainge had help...he was dealing with another Celtic GM in Minny.
Collecting assets in picks or players have a shelf life...they only last so long...then the balance on your team gets all screwed up...in contracts, cap room or personnel mix and free agency manouvering. It is a very difficult hoe to wield. No place for trying to exercise personal vendettas or trying to screw another gm/franchise for whatever jollies one wants to play with.
Is it coincidence that Celtic green runs thru these guys? McHale may have been the nice guy of the lot.
Just rambling.
